AfD Nomination: The Appointed Time‎

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that The Appointed Time‎ meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Appointed Time‎. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?

The Appointed Time

[edit]

Hi! As per above, your article has been nominated for deletion. Typically this process takes a few days, unless it is very clear that the article should or should not be deleted. The main method of establishing that the article should be kept is to add information from reliable sources, as you need to show that the subject (in this case the book) is notable. As the book is presumably self-published, that might be tricky - ideally you will need to find articles about the book (such as reviews) published by magazines, newspapers or similar. If the article is deleted, you could asked an admin to userfy it - this copies it to your user page so that you can still work on it while you establish notability. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask here or on my talk page - I'm online an awful lot, and will provide any advice that I can. - Bilby (talk) 03:20, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm sorry about the comments at the AfD - they get heated sometimes, but that one was more so than normal, for little if any reason. At any rate, if you have reviews or anything similar of the book, I'm happy to help. The difficult is that there is a push only to include materials which can be shown to have been discussed in various reliable sources, so The Appointed Time needs to demonstrate that this is the case. - Bilby (talk) 13:39, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the reply, Bilby. No need for further help; I will not be using Wikipedia again. It did not cross my mind that posting a truthful and non-fraudulent article would cause such furor and hatred. My experience here has confirmed every negative stereotype about Wikipedia, and every negative stereotype about people who prefer to live in a virtual world rather than the real one. I appreciate your comments, though, and wish you the best. Thanks again and have a good day. Maple50 (talk) 16:17, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I can understand your feelings - I was a bit luckier when I arrived, but I know I'd feel the same as you do if things had happened differently. Anyway, I wish you well, and I'm sorry about the manner in which things occurred. - Bilby (talk) 16:31, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
