Exercise/Operation Strikeback -- Dad was a photag on the Saratoga
Hello, Marcd30319,
My father served in the US Navy as a PH1 from 1954 to 1959. The last half of his service he was attached to a squadron out of JAX NAS. He was part of Strikeback, onboard the Sara. Assigned to the bridge and/or ship's captain, he was in a good spot to snap lots of photos of the "Brass" over the course of the cruise--including meetings between Allied/NATO commanders onboard the Sara--to include Admiral Gerald Wright.
Of the cruise, I'd guess there are 50-100 photos. Most, if not all, are stamped for release, if it matters.
I don't know what else to do with these photos. I've digitized the entire collection and can provide you a link to see what's there. Being the family archivist, I plan to donate the much larger family collection where appropriate.
