RE:Need Help updating old Wikiproject Aviation stuff

I'm very busy with my new job, so I don't have much time here these days, but last month I posted this proposal on all the project pages. As of yet I've received no feedback, but if you wish to start promoting it to get people involved, I'd be willing to volunteer for a specific task. Overall I see a lot of chatter on the project 's main talk pages, but moving things to more specific topical areas seems to be a bit of a chore. - Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 04:49, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

WPAVIATION tag

If I find the WPAVIATION tag on a redirect should I remove it? I ran across one today and it caused me to wonder if that is necessary. Here is the answer I got from Kirill,

The MILHIST convention—and that of most other projects I'm familiar with—is not to tag redirects, but you'd be better off asking at the Aviation project if they have any particular approach. Kirill 20:20, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

And so since you are the Assesments guy for the Project, I decided I should take his advice and ask. --Colputt 20:40, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to first say thanks for assessing the article for WP:AIR. You say in the details of the assessment that it will remain B Class until "minor changes are made." I'm looking for a clarification on that so I can begin to make those changes as time permits. I have seen a number of areas for improvement myself, but it appeared their might be some specific formatting things perhaps or others that I might not be familiar with. Thanks again -- Thatguy96 14:21, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

MDW "A"-Class

Definitely. However, this weekend I'm not sure how much free time I'll have, but I'll try to find references wherever and whenever I can. What else do you think would hold it back from an "A" Class? Sox23 13:47, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I did some work on references today- most were found in the online "MDW visitor's guide" [1], or "History of Midway Airport" [2], both of which were already referenced in the article. I didn't get to Early History and Post-O'Hare History, but I'll see what's going on tomorrow. Hope this helps. Sox23 02:04, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
OK- I finished the references. Do you think there are enough? Once you're done formatting, if you feel it's ready for A-Class, go ahead and nominate it. Sox23 04:37, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Will do- I hope it passes. Sox23 16:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Allan Lougheed wiki

Please forgive, I'm brand spankin' new at wikipedia. To spare words, I have a copy of Victor Lougheed's Vehicles of the Air. It's inscribed to "My Friend Chas. Fuller Gates, Dec. 6, 1909" I chased Gates down as far as I could on the 'net, found a reference from a 1907 car trip from Pasadena to Death Valley (www.1947project.com). Since Victor was the eldest (half? )brother, Charles Gates, not George Gates as the text states might have been the owner of the aircraft that started Allan off???? I don't want to make any changes without a conversation with the author, so if you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!
