Changes

[edit]

I don't know who this is who keeps changing the Wikipedia page under my name back to the bio that was there. Twice the text of this bio has been used in programs of concerts I have been part of, much to my displeasure. Please do not change what I have entered. Hello Johnuniq,

I respect that you are a serious Wikipedia content maker. How about this. Would you be willing to use my much more up to date information and put it in what you consider proper Wikipedia language? I have one important request. Please remove the story about the nickname. Martyehrlich (talk) 02:13, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Martyehrlich, I was the one initially reverting you, as shown by this report at the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard (WP:BLP noticeboard); that is where you should report any problems you have with your Wikipedia biography. When you were undoing the edits, you were undoing my edits. At your request, I have removed the nickname for the reasons stated in that WP:Edit summary. Marty Ehrlich

[edit]

Wikipedia is a big place and it takes quite a while to become used to how things are done here. Articles such as Marty Ehrlich must be written in a neutral and encyclopedic style, and while many pages need lots of work, no article can use the kind of language that you envisage. Ask at WP:HELPDESK for independent opinions. This diff shows the text you favor, but the experienced editors at the help desk will explain that "celebrating thirty-five years..." is not suitable. Also, facts need a reliable source, and while it is not necessary that everything be perfect initially, it is not satisfactory to have several paragraphs with no references.
