Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, MedhaSingh1397. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Baijayant Jay Panda, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Uhai (talk) 08:07, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Uhai, thank you for your feedback. I have recently started using Wikipedia and want to learn and be part of the community. I am currently uneducated on many of the Wikipedia's policies. However, I am willing to learn and correct my submissions.
I'll revisit my article and see what might have raised this COI situation since I am not getting paid to make these contributions, it might be flagged off by something in the content. I will also better understand the content policy to submit better articles.
Regards,
Medha MedhaSingh1397 (talk) 08:41, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You admitted your conflict of interest in the edit summary of this edit, where you said "The page is updated by the team of Baijayant Jay Panda itself". You need to read the guidance which Uhai gave you above, including the relevant wikilinks. Rather than trying to update the article yourself, you can use the article's talk page to suggest changes, but you'll need to support the suggestions by references to reliable sources independent of the subject. - David Biddulph (talk) 09:14, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page User:MedhaSingh1397/sandbox has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
