If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Word International requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. –Dream out loud (talk) 00:45, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The word international, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from The Word International, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. –Dream out loud (talk) 03:43, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warning and Advice[edit]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, for articles on things already notable , not a promotional medium for new companies or publications that are trying to become notable. I warn you against trying to reinsert the above article until you have references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. (And trying to reinsert it under variant forms of the title only makes the promotional intent more obvious.) DGG ( talk ) 04:46, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. DGG ( talk ) 05:00, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Graham Stacey[edit]

Graham Stacey is a renowned magazine publisher who has launched or edited many of the UAE's best-known titles. Between 2000-2010 he played a significant role in the development of the nation's publishing market.

In 2003, he launched Ahlan! at ITP Publishing Group. This was the UAE's first celebrity magazine, and introduced a genre to the country. Ahlan! was followed by Ahlan! Masala and an Arabic language edition.

In 2005 he launched OK! Middle East, the Gulf region's edition of OK! magazine

In 2008 he oversaw the launch of ENG Media, a magazine publishing division of ENG Worldwide. ENG Media launched iQ, Insider, Media Week Middle East and Beauty, Health & Wellness.

In 2009 he launched Aqua Vitae. In 2010 he launched Funk'd.

In 2010 he founded The Word International. The Word International is an agency representing writers around the world. It also has plans to launch iPad specific magazines, adding to the small pool of titles currently including Project and Wired. The Word's first in-house launch was Soccer Daily in December 2010.

I agree ITP publishing group is notable, so much so that I have spent some considerable effort rewriting the copyvio article instead of deleting it as most admins would have done. Even if you represent the organization, do not copy from its web site -- even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. Graham Stacey is possibly notable, if you can find some references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. I should mention that what he plans to do is irrelevant, only what he has done that is already notable matters. Some hard data for the publications would be helpful, such as circulation or revenue. And resist the temptation to try to write an article on every possible project.

Considering the reaction to some of the prior material, you might want to try his bio in user space first--ask me or any other experienced editor here to have a look at it before moving it to mainspace. Before you go further, I suggest it would help if you read (or re-read) WP:COI and WP:FIRST. DGG ( talk ) 05:16, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
