Help me![edit]

Please help me with... I created the new account and let the message for Daniel yesterday in order to reactivate the deleted article about Frank Kortan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Frank_Kortan but this talk has been deleted yesterday again! I have really no idea where and how should I please my request, see the text from yesterday as follows, thank you for an exact instruction to whom should I request the reactivating of article of Frank Kortan.

Dear Daniel, I noticed by chance that the article of Frank Kortan has been deleted. I was very surprised, as Frank Kortan is a well known artist since more than 30 years, especially for his specific painting technique (Trompe-l'oeil combined with Surrealism and Fantastic Realism) and oil paintings in highest quality. He worked very closely on a lot of projects/artworks e.g. with the famous Prof. Ernst Fuchs, who was the austrian painter and founder of Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. You can see his statemenent about Kortan art as well as a photo in his studio http://www.frank-kortan.com/en/home.html and http://www.frank-kortan.com/en/fotos.html You noticed that Kortan awards that are stated in this article are unverifiable as they can not be found in internet. This can be explained very easy, Kortan has received most of these awards more than 20 years ago and as you know in this time the internet still did not exist. This is why a lot of information that are older can not be found in detail, this concern also another articles in general. You wrote Palm Art Award is a vanity award, this is not correct, as it is an internationally renowned art prize that is awarding outstanding artists. Maybe you are not familiar in art business in detail, therefore I will explain you how it works, if the artist get nominated, sometimes the artist pay small registration fee, but there is a jury which decide who of hundreds of registred artist get some award or not, that means that 99% of registred artists don'g get any award. This is an essential difference compared to paid marketing activity. It was also mentioned that Levi Strauss was an inventor of jeans, this is correct, but his musem in Buttehnheim has ordered an oil painting from Kortan and therefore he created a special portrait of Levi Strauss for his museum. You also mentioned that it could not be proven further museums indicated in this article really own Kortans works. The same case like with the awards, all museums (including 1 library which is a public institution) bought his artworks more than 20 years ago and if they don’t have collections online, or have no website any more, I can’t influence it, also very often the museums are selling the artworks again. The only thing that matters is the artworks have been sold to all stated museums and Kortan has received all the stated awards. There are all certificates existing, I understand that Wikipedia has to be carefull and need proofs of published information. If you like I can email you all these certificates. I am sure, that if you have a look on Kortans Website e.g. http://www.frank-kortan.com/ohering.html you will see the high quality of this artist. Furthermore he took part on more than 40 exibitions in a lot of european countries, e.g. on legendary Salon d'Automne in Paris or Salvador Dali Exhibition, Musée Baron Martin Gray in France and more. I hope all stated arguments showed, Frank Kortan is an artist that meets the criteria to be published on Wikipedia as his art is notable, he also has received significant coverage in a lof of reliable sources, have a look below, there is small selection. Therefore I would like to ask you to publish the deleted article again. Thank you for your understanding and let me know if you have more questions, so we can find a solution. Welcome![edit]

Hello, Michaela131964, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It appears that you may have a conflict of interest with the topic you wish to edit, such as your edits to Frank Kortan. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. Since the page in question has already been deleted from Wikipedia, I've taken the liberty of going to Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion § Frank Kortan and asking to save the content from the deleted page to use for that draft.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

Hi Rotideypoc41352, thank you very much for you explanation, I am still not so familiar with editing on Wikipedia. Just for your information, Frank Kortan is an artist that doesn't belong to any company or organisation. I am a private person, and sometimes I am editing articles about art or artists. As Frank Kortans art plays a significant role in the category of Surrealism and Fantastic Realism, this is why an article has a relevancy on Wikipedia. I would like to use your kind offer to proofread the article, which I will revise according to the rules. I come back to you in next days. Thanks again for helping me! Hi Rotideypoc41352, I created an revised article according to the given rules. It would be great if you could have a look on the following text and let me know your feedback, it this can be published in this way:

Frank Kortan Frank Kortan (born April 22,1964 in Prague, Czech Republic) is a German painter, who works in style of Surrealism, Fantastic realism and Trompe-l'oeil. He lives in Egloffstein Bavaria, Germany. Kortan started his professional artistic career in Prague, Czechoslovakia, as a musician. In 1984 he emigrated to Tessino, Switzerland, after one year he moved to Germany. He met there an artist group, who worked in style and technique of "Trompe-l'oeil". He was fascinated by this style and technique, which was already used by the old masters, as it creates the illusion of reality, painted objects appear three-dimensional. Kortan studied this technique and style very intensively but developed this further due to combination with Surrealism and Fantastic Realism, influenced also by his friend, the austrian painter Ernst Fuchs. He painted a lof of historical personalities such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Peter Paul Rubens or Franz Kafka in his specific style, as well as contemporary personalities, such as the israeli writer Ephraim Kishon. Frank Kortan's works are in several public as well as private collections. His oil paintings have been seen in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world.

Just for your information, for Frank Kortan art is the major focus the highest artistic quality and imaginative ideas, he is working only on 1 single pating several months. Kindly let me know if the text is ok, I would like to publish and add some paintings of Kortan art. Kindly let me know your feedback, thank you, Michaela131964

I will take a look later; meanwhile, I've copied it (with attribution, of course) to your sandbox for easier review. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 17:53, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks!

Hi Rotideypoc41352, could you have a look at the article yet? How we dan proceed? Thank you! Michaela131964

Thanks for waiting. I've taken some time to think on the draft and asked for a second opinion. It seems we cannot proceed. The subject simply does not meet English Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. Not really a surprise there—that bar is quite high. The sources you've posted fail one of the three criteria: reliability (so no blogs), independence (not a press release or interview), or in-depth coverage (not just a photo or mere mention of the subject). Thus, they do not help us show that he meets inclusion criteria. The deletion discussion mentioned these problems, and so far, the situation outside of Wikipedia has not changed enough for Mr. Kortan to have his own article.
The person whom I asked for a second opinion suggested you do two things:
  • Set up a Google News alert for Mr. Kortan to track news coverage on him. Once it reaches the threshold as described in English Wikipedia policy, redraft the article through the Article Wizard.
  • Put in the time and effort to develop an understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you have more questions, please feel free to ask on your talk page or at the Teahouse. Thanks again! Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 11:18, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am wondering you write that the posted links were blogs, the most of them are NO blogs, but press articles, however as I see it doesn't make any sense to send you further sources in German language, as you can not read them. Nevertheless thank you for you support. Michaela 131964

A question about another account[edit]

Hello, Michaela131964. If I have correctly understood what you have written, both here and on another page, an earlier account of yours is blocked from editing, and you created this account so that you could carry on editing. Is that correct? If it is, then what is your other account? JBW (talk) 00:32, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the reason for creating of this new account is that I want to update all relevant news of this artist. Why an earlier account has been blocked for editing I don't understand at all, as all facts that are published here are verifiable. Michaela131964 (talk) 08:15, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
