Greater Manchester[edit]

Kindly refrain from vandalism on pages associated with Greater Manchester. The consensus is to use the current county/metropolitan borough and mention that historically these areas area part of Lancashire. Thank you Man2 (talk) 12:06, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about the above did you miss? Man2 (talk) 15:43, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just as an afternote, Mickjang, I have blocked the account named Jimcrack (talk · contribs) (I am an administrator), as it appears to be a second, unauthorised account that you're using to enforce edits on Wikipedia. Second accounts (named "sockpuppets" are expressly forbidden on Wikipedia, particularly for vandalism, edit warring and other dubious activies that upset our principle of collaborative editting.
The user above (User:Man2) correctly refers to our "naming convention" on English counties which is found at the link "WP:UCC", meaning that articles such as Bury F.C. are required by policy to show their location within modern, 'administrative', county boundaries. Best of luck otherwise, I hope to see you around. --Jza84 |  Talk  20:11, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Bury F.C.[edit]

Please do not introduce historic counties into articles about modern entities, as you did to Bury F.C.. Your edits contraveine our convention on English counties and have been reverted. Repeatedly breaching this convention is precluded by our policies on collaborative editting, meaning it could result in articles being protected and your account being blocked. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. --Jza84 |  Talk  15:53, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again,
I noticed that you have continued to confront and resist our naming convention WP:UCC. This is a calm and kind appeal for you to stop this type of action. The persistent refusal to adhere to our principle of consensus may result in you being blocked. --Jza84 |  Talk  19:54, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
