Drew Tretick has been tagged for speedy deletion, a process through which unacceptable articles are summarily removed. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please note: This page was a direct copy of the artist's facebook page, and several other pages, all of which have copyright notices on them. You might be able to establish notability, I don't know enough about him. But you can't use copyrighted text without explicit permission. This has been attempted before; was last year's article also created by you? Please read WP:COPYRIGHT, and WP:PLAGIARISM. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:56, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would echo what the above editors have said: you cannot paste copyrighted text from another website, unless the copyright owner contacts Wikipedia officially and provides permission (See WP:DCM for information on how to do this). Regardless, the musician's biography from his website or facebook page is unlikely to be appropriate for this purpose, as it is, understandably, written in a promotional way. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and as such we require articles to be written in a neutral tone. If you would like to write an article on Drew Tretick, there are lots of people who would be happy to help you. The first and most important thing to do, is to find reliable sources such as newspaper articles, which have written about him in a significant way - a brief mention in an article is not as useful. I have had a look on some news databases, but have unfortunately so far the most substantial I have found is an Associated Press story about the Tretick children entitled, "Children's Success Music To Mom's Ear". I would be good if some of the mentions of events on Mr. Tretick's website were mentioned in news articles etc. Our guidelines for notability for musicians are at WP:MUSIC. If you have any questions, the Help Desk is a good starting point. Hope this helps. --Kateshortforbob talk 11:07, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
