Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:User:MilesM11|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. MilesM11 (talk) 18:06, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Cedar Revolution

[edit]

Hello MilesM11, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Cedar Revolution - a page you tagged - because: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. SoWhy 12:50, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the reason I received on my talk page was downgarded from "It's stupid" (the original excuse) to "some of what it says is biased!". So these are now the criterion for speedy deletions for an article that has been around since March 1, 2005 at least and has been countlessly edited and reedited (1000 edits and going) and tons of discussions poured into it in talk page? Have you checked all the discussion that was done on the talk page from the start to reach a concensus? Have you checked the edits from the tens of editors that were involved in editing and reediting? Or was your request done on purely subjective opinions you personally have about the Cedar Revolution itself, which makes you want to create just excuses to see it disappear and very speedily at that? Why the speed though? Your edit history says your last edits were in September 2007 and then you return after not a single edit for 25 months in October 2009 to request speedy deletion of a carefully written page that tells the history of a very important phase in Lebanon... If you have constructive suggestions, discuss them on the talk page, make some amendments on text of article if you will. The Cedar Revolution is one of the most important national initiatives that had profound consequences on the history of Lebanon and led to the withdrawal of the Syrian troups aftre many many long years of hegemony and dictatorship and arbitrary running of Lebanon. The Cedar Revolution was triggered by the assassination of the country's Prime Moinister no less in a hedious crime. Wikipedia reflects significant events in the history of nations. The page and its contents should definitly stay. werldwayd (talk) 15:17, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
