Tuval

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please stop adding the Larry & Mindy website link to the Tuval article. This is a form of WP:LINKSPAM and will continue to be reverted. Please also read WP:COI. Thanks, Number 57 11:13, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is your final warning. If you continue to insert the link to the Tuval article, you will be blocked. Number 57 11:15, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. Request reason:

I am a new user and I am still trying to figure out how to edit my page. I did not purposely do anything wrong, nor was it my intention to spam. I am simply trying to figure out how to edit the page correctlyMincruiser (talk) 11:30, 1 December 2015 (UTC)I am also indeed a member of TuvalMincruiser[reply]

Accept reason:

Per agreement to stop adding the link. Number 57 12:08, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I will unblock you if you will agree to stop adding the link to the Tuval page. Number 57 11:45, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your message. Like I said, I am also indeed a member of Tuval and am simply looking for a way to add a reference to this fact. I thought to add my website as a reference because in the website it indeed states that I live in Tuval. Is this not okay? Mincruiser
No, it's not ok. Wikipedia is not a vehicle to promote yourself. Please read the links I posted above. Are you agreeing to stop adding this link? Also, please respond below my comments (I have moved yours). Number 57 11:56, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I won't. Again, I am not intentionally doing something wrong. This is my first time editing Wikipedia. Is it okay to link/reference an article written on us about moving to Tuval??

Thank you. Why do you think it would be appropriate for an article to include details about you moving to Tuval? Millions of people move house every year. This is an encylopedia, not a blog. Number 57 12:06, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't understand. I thought I was doing something good by adding a reference. On the same Tuval page there is a reference to the actor Robbie Gringras living here, and an article about him used as a reference. Why would an actor who lives here be allowed to do this, but not singers?

(And thank you for unblocking me. )

Firstly, it's about notability. There is an article on Gringras (although to be honest, it's not in good shape); although you have created an article about yourself, there is no evidence that there is any notability (so it has been nominated for deletion). Secondly, this is a clear conflict of interest. You should not be writing about yourself on Wikipedia – please read our WP:COI guidelines. Number 57 12:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Larry & Mindy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 331dot (talk) 22:35, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
