Talk pages and posting on them

[edit]

Hey, something that I noticed in our discussion on my talk page that will be helpful for you going forward is some basics on using talk pages. As you saw on the discussion on my page, I would indent my replies to you. I went ahead and refactored it to also indent your subsequent reply. Doing that makes it easier to see who is responding to which comment. It's easy to do, just put a colon (:) at the start of your reply, one more than the message you are responding. Like this:

Initial message

:My reply
::Your response
:::My answer back

There's a good page at Help:Talk_pages#Indentation that talks about this, and Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines if you really want to know more about talk page. (I haven't read most of that last one! The help page about indentations is really useful though). Something else is knowing where to create discussions - at on article talk page or at the user talk page. Generally, if you're talking about edits to an article, it's often best to use the article talk page, not the user talk of the specific editor. That way other people can participate in the discussion and help guide consensus. If you've got something not really about the edit, the user talk is perfect. Your comment on my page is a good example, not really content related. It could have gone either place, but my talk page was perfectly fine. Ravensfire (talk) 17:17, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources - Get up to speed ASAP, please

[edit]

Re: these changes, you've used a few problematic references, which I have detailed on that talk page. Please get up to speed on Our reliable sourcing guidelines. See also WP:ICTFSOURCES. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:18, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly elaborate more about which sources. Minishaliper (talk) 02:57, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I just went through it....but if you check several edits were made after that. Minishaliper (talk) 03:03, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
