Hello, MissyMonroeFan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Missy Monroe

[edit]

Regarding your edits to the Missy Monroe article:

  • Lukeisback isn't considered a reliable source by those of us who regularly edit the pornography related articles. See Wikipedia:P*#External_links for more on LukeIsBack.com.
  • A search engine like True Knowledge gathers information from a lot of sources. That includes blogs, message boards, etc. Those are not considered reliable sources. You could use a search engine to find info on conspiracy theories too but that doesn't make them any more true.
  • Public records shouldn't be used per WP:BLPPRIMARY. We're not here to "out" anyone or display anything that hasn't been published in a public medium. Erring on the side of the subject's privacy is usually a good way to go.

If you have any questions about any of this, let me know or you can also post your questions on the Help Desk. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 04:43, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, we're not here to dig into anyone's personal life. IMDb, which you also used as a source, is unreliable for personal info. See WP:RS/IMDB. I'm not trying to keep info out of the article. I'm trying to limit the info in the article to what we can confirm via reliable secondary sources. We have to be able to verify each fact in any article. And unreliable sources don't help us do that.
Also, with regard to linking to off-site images, that can't be done. Images must be uploaded either here at Wikipedia or to Wikimedia Commons first and then placed in the articles. Dismas|(talk) 05:53, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just putting the same info back in with the same poor sources isn't going to get us anywhere. If you don't believe that I'm doing the right thing, go ahead and notify an admin or some other third party. You can notify an admin here. Dismas|(talk) 07:04, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
