Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Stephen Biesty—has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thank you. Reviewing your edits

[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm glad you're enthusiastic about editing! However, there are a number of edits you've made that have called for reversion or correction. Some of the adjustments I've made involved style issues. Wikipedia has a (large) number of guidelines for article content, man of which you can find in the Manual of Style. Here are a few things for you to keep in mind, with links to relevant guidelines for details and clarification:

  • Don't overlink. Generally, a given word or phrase doesn't need to be linked repeatedly.
  • Don't change varieties of English. Each article should be consistently written in one style of English, whether it's US English or UK English or another variety. As long as an article is consistent in this regard, don't change words from one variety to another, such as by replacing "colour" by "color" and "subsidise" by "subsidize", or vice versa. Some articles even have a tag at the top specifying which English to use.
  • Don't add external links to article bodies. Generally, external links should appear only in an "External links" section at the end of an article, and those should conform to the guidelines for such a section. Also, don't add links to search result listings.
  • In a couple of places where you overlinked, the link you created didn't go to the right place anyway! For example, in the REDCap article, you linked "EDC", but the EDC page you linked it to is a disambiguation page, not the article about electronic data capture, so that wouldn't have been a helpful link anyway. Please be sure, when you create a link, that the article it leads to is about the correct subject.
  • For some reason, you inserted a space into the name of the LogicVision company in a couple of places. There is no space in the name of the company.

Keeping these things in mind, please carry on, and enjoy! Largoplazo (talk) 13:51, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
