AHL Standings & future tasks

Dear Mr. Steak. Thanks for helping with infoboxes for AHL teams. It was a task on my to do list I had not gotten around to yet. I recently made AHL season articles from 1936 to present. I can save you time with AHL standings if you were going to do those too. I have them underway for all teams, past and present, including playoff results. I hope to finish these by the end of the current season's playoffs. Do you have any other future tasks regarding the AHL? Flibirigit 01:11, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

No problem Flibirigit, I saw some information such as arenas and cities in two places and decided to focus on bringing it all together. I got the idea on the infobox from the NHL one and it went from there. I am now into the past teams now with their own infobox (Template:Defunct Hockey Team). The template I made is universal so any past team from any league can use it. As far as the standings go, I wasn't going to do them, but since I created the PEI Sens and the New Haven Sens, I put them on there. Mrsteak613 02:15, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
I like the template you have, but others already existed too. Check out the home page for WikiProject Hockey, there's lotsa helpful hints. If you need any advice or shortcuts let me know. I've also added as many team logos as I could find, and I spent hours looking. So if you come across a team with no logo, its cuz I couldnt find it. The parser functions sounds like something good, I would like to know more on that.
As far as the playoff results go i'm just wondering how you were going with it, not because I want to do that too, but I think that it is a good idea to showcase it for the team, and cause i had an idea on it? Mrsteak613 21:14, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
For a look at parser functions, see Template:Hockey team. It is currently implemented for all teams in the Canadian Hockey League, and other junior leagues in Canada. As for playoffs, there are two options, one is to list round in word version for example, see Sudbury Wolves. Flibirigit 02:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
The other option for playoffs is to display the items in a chart, where the rows are the seasons, and the colums are the rounds, and the data in each cell are the results of the series. This option was discussed over a year ago in the IceHockey Project. Flibirigit 02:48, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey, How's this for starters? (see: Syracuse Crunch) I chose the Crunch because it's my hometown team.
I think this was the second option, and it might be the only one I do.
I took the "Playoffs" row out of the records because it would only be a duplicate of the "Playoffs" table result.

Hi, why did you delete the reference to River Rats being the same franchise as the CDI? Ditto for the Amerks? And on another note, I'm compiling references regarding NHL/AHL affiliation agreement, that I thought you might be able to help. Sorry about that, I put them back on. Didn't think that it was ok to mention them after I put them on the right a while ago. So maybe I can expand that part of the box to include other teams that have moved on. I did that to the Hamilton Bulldogs a while ago, but only mentioned the two Bulldog teams as seperate entries. Template Category Tag

Missing image Image:BurgerTime Peter Pepper.png

  • Hello. Don't forget to sign your comments using --~~~~. The image is fine, and the commons page is fine, but there should only be something on Wikipedia about it if there is something about the image specific to Wikipedia (for example, if it was a featured picture, it's associated with that Wikipedia project, so that can have information on its WP page in addition to the Commons description).   • To clarify, the actual image wasn't deleted, just Wikipedia's description page for the image. It was deleted under CSD i2: Corrupt or empty image. This is not because the image was corrupt, but because it was an image description page for a Commons image with no project-specific content. Template:Pro hockey team

I see you have found out about my new template. I am currently implemenying it for all defunct AHL teams. I was going to wait until after the Calder Cup is finalized to add it to the current teams, but I always like help. Would you mind working on the current teams, while I work on the defunct teams? Conference championships

The AHL did not have conferences until the 1995-96 AHL season. Before that, all trophies were division champions. I think we should review the conference titles totals in the templates. Currently these totals reflect appearances in the finals. Flibirigit 17:17, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
