Speedy deletion nomination of Blarming[edit]

A tag has been placed on Blarming, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Blarming and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. The reason I don't think even your new article is going to be kept, even in non-advertisement form, is that as an encyclopedia Wikipedia only covers things that are already established. One of our content policies is WP:No original research - if you have invented something new, Wikipedia is not the place to tell the world about it. That is explained further in WP:NFT, mainly written for people who have invented a new religion or drinking game, but the discussion of Scrabble at the end is relevant.
The admission criterion is called notability, which is not a matter of opinion but must be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases.
The policy on neologisms says that "Articles on neologisms are commonly deleted, as these articles are often created in an attempt to use Wikipedia to increase usage of the term."
One thing to add: shared acounts are not allowed, each account must be for one individual. "My assistant did it" is only one step from the perennial WP:My little brother did it. If your assistant is going to edit s/he needs a separate account.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Blarming is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blarming until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. JohnCD (talk) 19:49, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
