Industrial Rock: Established Acts Which Experimented with the Genre

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Industrial Rock: Established Acts Which Experimented with the Genre, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Industrial Rock: Established Acts Which Experimented with the Genre. Hammer1980·talk 20:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated List of established artists who have experimented with industrial rock, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of established artists who have experimented with industrial rock. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Sorry for the death'n'roll stuff

[edit]

Just wanted to say that I can actually apreciate that though your views clash with mine about death'n'roll, not once did you edit or remove my post in the discussion, but you researched your arguement and addressed me directly. You're a good editor, better than me. Just telling you guys how much I apreciate even small gestures of good will. Keep it up.JackorKnave (talk) 00:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arise on hold deadline

[edit]

Usually, articles should be put on hold for seven days to ameliorate the article per suggestions during review. But if you're busy in real life, I can extend it to some considerable time allowance. --Efe (talk) 05:31, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Agree. I'll give you two weeks since its "on hold" date to address all my suggestions. Good luck! =) --Efe (talk) 05:27, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not yet buddy. Please see my comments there; a little more for me to pass it. --Efe (talk) 09:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Tell me when you're done. --Efe (talk) 11:16, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that the article is put on hold for almost a month. Reviewed on May 25, I will pass/fail this article in June of the same date. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 06:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats! Its now passed. Sorry for the delay. --Efe (talk) 03:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. --Efe (talk) 11:29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your right,

[edit]

I'm sorry. Although I did leave a list issues to be fixed. And I really do feel that enough work it isn't up to GA standard yet. Maybe a "model" article would help you in the direction to go: Heaven Up Here is a recent GA I co-reviewed with Efe; I was quite impressed with that. indopug (talk) 20:32, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arise

[edit]

I've just seen that you are making Arise (album) a GA. That thrash masterpiece is absolutely astounding... :) --  LYKANTROP  19:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well done! That is a pity that I/we/nobody will never see this live. These shows in 1990-1992 must have been one o the best shows ever. But yesterday I've seen the best show in my life. Meshuggah. :) --  LYKANTROP  19:14, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sepultura arise back cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sepultura arise back cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:16, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Umm...

[edit]

Thanks, I love the album, but I really had nothing to do with the article save debating it's groove metalness. Sweet album, can't be stressed enough.JackorKnave (talk) 22:00, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grindcore

[edit]

Alright dude. Do you know if that Spin article on grind (Blush, 1991) is scanned anywhere? I'm not doubting its veractity, I'd just be interested in reading it! You're doing some excellent work on that page. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 19:39, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grindcore and industrial music

[edit]

Hi, I appreciate the work you've been doing on the grindcore page, and there's an issue I'd like to discuss with you. Do you think that "Industrial music" is a prominent enough influence on grindcore to be listed in the infobox? I realize that ND cited Throbbing Gristle, and you've alluded to their appreciation for Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, but I don't see many elements from industrial music, as such, in grindcore. What I do hear are very prominent noise rock influences -- especially the Swans -- and some influence from noise music. Many later grindcore bands have had some connection to power electronics or Merzbow or Whitehouse or John Wiese, but there's not much connection at all between grindcore and later industrial rock or classic industrial music (Coil, Nurse With Wound, etc.). Do you think that "noise rock" or "noise music" could be listed in the infobox? Thanks for your thoughts. Aryder779 (talk) 14:34, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Industrial rock and metal

[edit]

hi, I cleaned up the industrial rock page today, and I think it's in much better shape now. Let me know if you disagree with any of my edits. It still needs work, and I'll be trying to expand it from the skeleton that's now established. I think you've done some really good work on the industrial metal page, and I think soon both will be in good shape. I think a slippery question here is how we can more fully address Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. I mean, I think they're clearly industrial rock, and maybe have some industrial metal tracks, but calling NIN industrial metal seems kind of weird to me as I think they have very few metal influences. They were both nominated for Grammys in the metal category, which I guess makes them metal, but I really think both bands owe more to noise rock than they do to any metal bands as such. Though I guess they were both friends with Pantera. Aryder779 (talk) 21:56, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Working Man's Barnstar
I award Musicaindustrial the Working Man's Barnstar for his many crucial contributions to the grindcore and industrial metal articles. Aryder779 (talk) 23:09, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great additions to the industrial metal page. I made a few tiny adjustments, and I think I found a way to make the RevCo information make sense, contextually. Aryder779 (talk) 23:10, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grindcore

[edit]

I'm sorry I have deleted some parts in the grindcore article but they violate WP:SYN (example: you simply cannot claim grindcore had a significant influenced on avant garde jazz without a source that directly states that.). Please keep in mind there is no such thing as "concensus of the editors invested in this article", as "silence implies consent", see WP:CON. I've explained everything extensively on the talk page. Re: Arise (album) - Importance Scale

[edit]

I removed only because, Arise (is a "death/thrash" album) don't have any relation with rock music. But you can revert my edition, if is wrong (really, no problem). =D Regards, Cannibaloki 16:08, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Industrial metal "good article" nomination

[edit]

Hi Musicaindustrial, I think that the industrial metal article is getting very close to the point where it can be nominated for good article status. I need to fill out some the references in the "video" and "industrial black metal" sections, but other than that, I think it's getting pretty comprehensive.
You know more about this procedure than I do because you got Arise to good article status. Do you agree that industrial metal is ripe for nomination?
