"Sales" interpolated from certifications

Hi – I appreciate what you are trying to do by trying to estimate UK sales figures from certifications, but in fact it's pretty pointless. For a start, selling a certain amount didn't automatically qualify a single or album for a certification... that's totally separate from sales, and it depends entirely on the record company going through the process of having the sales audited and applying for certification. For example, for Bros, "Drop the Boy" was certified silver, but was outsold by both "When Will I Be Famous?" and "I Owe You Nothing", neither of which have ever been certified. Also, you have to remember that certification levels have changed over the years, so for each record you have to check what the certification levels were at the time.

Secondly, for a 1970s act like the Bay City Rollers, you have no idea how many albums they sold, because until 1979, certifications were not calculated on the number of albums sold, but by their monetary value. So any actual numbers you come up with here are incorrect assumptions, because you would need to know the sale price of an album at any particular point in time... Correct usage of {{certification Table Bottom}}

Hi Musicality123. I noticed you are adding and modifying certification tables, like you did here and here. I ask that you pay more attention to the correct usage of {{certification Table Bottom}}. The footnotes at the bottom of the table should match the footnote denotations uses in the table itself, and this is achieved by using {{certification Table Bottom}} with the correct parameters, like I did here and here.
