Dear Gbawden,

Ms. Suzanne Muchnic has received the "Distinguished Alumna Award from Scripps College itself... I wonder if other editors of the Scripps College WIKIPEDIA page will allow the omission of her name to be corrected?

Although I have never made an addition to WIKIPEDIA before, I felt strongly compelled to correct the lack of the name of this important Scripps woman on the Scripps College WIKIPEDIA page's "Notable Alumnae" list. Ms. Muchnic graduated from Scripps College in 1962 and Scripps College and her alumnae have long been very proud of her and her outstanding career in art journalism. I was very surprised not to see her name included in the WIKIPEDIA Scripps College "Notable Alumnae list". Scripps College is in Southern California and the local Los Angeles Times is a major newspaper for which Ms. Muchnic was an art writer and art critic for 31 years. If you Google her name there are hundreds of pages referring to articles that she has written on art. It perplexes me that you would think that, for example, Ms. Serena Altschul '93, a MTV newscaster, merits presence on this list but not Suzanne Muchnic, who has a far longer standing career in her field of journalism, art criticism. I have never made an addition here before and I find this process very complex. I suppose that with all of your experience your decisions have more weight in this process, but I do think I must have some authority as a Scripps alumna myself. I wonder if you could take a moment and Google "Suzanne Muchnic"? Maybe you would then decide that she does merit inclusion on the "Notable Alumnae" list of the Scripps College WIKIPEDIA page. Frankly, many Scripps alumnae would see the lack of her name a serious omission on the "Notable Alumnae List". After all, she received the "Distinguished Alumna Award from Scripps College! Read about this and more here (and don't forget to Google her name, too) in support of the inclusion of her name.

I am a Scripps College alumna Class of '83.

Speedy deletion nomination of Suzanne Muchnic[edit]

Hello MysteryLily,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Suzanne Muchnic for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Gbawden (talk) 11:16, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
