This is my first project and I've only just discovered that I've been making some errors that I'm trying to rectify. Thanks. 1malaysiadevelopmentberhad (talk) 02:03, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on 1malaysia development berhad, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of 1malaysia development berhad and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Staberinde (talk) 10:03, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia's policies. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information.

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Allowing username change to Shah Embi (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.

Request handled by: Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:53, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

There's no problem with the new username but ... first, do you have some sort of connection to this project? And second, do you plan to edit articles about anything else? Daniel Case (talk) 18:07, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:1malaysiadevelopmentberhad, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — dαlus Contribs 22:13, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Daniel, thanks for asking. I don't have a direct connection to the 1Malaysia project nor the one that I'm writing about. I've just decided to do it because I know about its existence and it is such an important milestone for Malaysia and there's not much info on it (1Malaysia Development Berhad) yet apart from what's on its website. Believe me, by next year college kids will be looking it up, as it becomes more prominent in the country (and globally, perhaps). I just want to start what I hope people will appreciate, and hopefully a lot of other contributors will edit and add info to. And yes, I intend to edit other pages as well, maybe help expand the 1Malaysia stub page once I'm done with mine, and maybe later some of the pages which covers my area of interest, like Malaysian Railway and Chris Pine. For the admins' consideration. Thanks. 1malaysiadevelopmentberhad (talk) 02:03, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been unblocked, as the username you suggest certainly is an acceptable one. Thank you for carefully reading the instructions, they certainly can be a bit to go through at first! You may also want to review the guidelines on verifiability and notability before recreating the exact same article. You mentioned above that there's "not much on it" yet. For subjects without significant independent reliable source coverage, we generally do not have articles. If this is an initiative of the magnitude you suggest, I'm sure reliable sources will at some point cover it, and we can always get the article done at that time. Also do keep in mind that we are not restricted to English-language sources. Sources in other languages are perfectly acceptable, as long as they do meet the criteria for a reliable source. If you need help in translating such sources, you might be able to find assistance at the Babel project, and some can be at least roughly machine translated by Google's translator or similar sites. (A machine translation probably isn't accurate enough to use as an actual source, but probably could at least give you a good idea if the source has the material you're looking for and may be worth asking for help in translating). The other areas you're looking to edit in certainly look like some we could use as well. We've got a pretty active Wikiproject as trains and railways go, so I imagine they could give you plenty of advice in that area. Welcome, and happy editing! Hello! I have been unblocked, I got a new username, and I'm getting the hang of Wikipedia, and rewriting my article on 1Malaysia Development Berhad now. Thanks admins! Nadine Azz (talk) 03:32, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Seraphimblade / other admins, I am re-writing the article which was previously here. I was wondering if the red box can be permanently deleted? FYI I am working on an article using the same titile as the one deleted. Will there be a conflict later on when I finally publish it? Appreciate your feedback. Thanks. Nadine Azz (talk) 04:29, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello :-) ... I've just put up a new page based on my previous title. I hope it's alright and that I am not violating any more of Wikipedia's regulations. I still don't know how to do a reference, that's why I linked an outside link inside my article. I have to go someplace right now, but I'll get back tomorrow and try to figure out how to move the outside links in my article and turn it into a reference. Thank you. Nadine Azz (talk) 07:06, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

User:Nadine Azz1Malaysia Development Berhad — This article was prepared in my user page, as my first attempt was speedily deleted because I obviously was not very well-versed with Wiki rules and styles when I first came up with this article. And I also had a taboo user ID. I have since made several edits to this article, and included some of the latest references which I obtained via news coverage. So I hope this article is ready to go live. Please advise me if otherwise. Thank you — Nadine Azz (talk) 07:21, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
