AfD nomination of Nairba Sirrah

[edit]

I have nominated Nairba Sirrah, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nairba Sirrah. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.    SIS  00:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nairba Sirrah is a new page being acurately edited. Please do not delete. An external link to his Internet Movie Database page has been added.

  • The problem with the article is that IMDB attempts to list every single actor in existence while Wikipedia only covers those that have been interviewed or discussed indepth in newspapers, magazines or on reliable websites. In this case IMDB doesn't count because it is not reliable. Anyone can add information there and there's no real way to figure out what is correct. Also, actors that get a page on Wikipedia generally have several important supporting roles or some lead roles in whatever it was they acted in. There's rarely enough information to discuss an extra. = Mgm|(talk) 09:41, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Nairba Sirrah has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://profile.myspace.com/nairba) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Nairba Sirrah. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:36, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
