It's a non-notable club. As far as I could see from the single listing on Goolge it's part of a Fantasy League. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Athletico Beccles[edit]

A tag has been placed on Athletico Beccles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Julius Sahara 15:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NB[edit]

You'll get yourself blocked if you keep recreating a deleted article. I'm afraid your team is not notable - see WP:N. --Dweller 15:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If as you say all the teams are going to make articles then they will be deleted as well. Also the Raw Soccer League is not very notable anyway. The only Raw Soccer League I could find on Google is a womans league in North America. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 15:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Please read Wikipedia:Notability, when I can't even find a reference to your Raw Soccer League or Athletico Beccles at the www.thefa.com link you gave me, then I agree with your words "Still not notable.." CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:34, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beccles[edit]

By consensus, teams that are at level 11 or higher of the English football league system are automatically notable. All others must have achieved some kind of notability to be notable. As your articles claimed no such special notability, they've been repeatedly deleted. Sorry. I know it's tough getting the hang of Wikipedia's policies when you first arrive. --Dweller 15:34, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll happily recreate your article if you tell me that you play in Level 11 or higher, or if there's some special notability the club has. Just playing in the FA Cup qualifying rounds doesn't cut the mustard. I'll review the deleted versions to see what league you play in, but I doubt you're a notable side. Oh, and I know it's a tempting argument, but we have a page devoted to WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. That argument is an argument for deleting other stuff, not keeping the article under consideration. --Dweller 15:43, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Any former professional can have a biography article... and the fact that they play for your team can be noted, especially if backed by some source. The "harm" argument is a tough one. Essentially, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. The community keeps out material deemed non encyclopedic. You wouldn't expect an article about My granny's warts on her left leg in an encyclopedia? So, the community's devised rules for what is and what isn't notable enough for inclusion. I checked out your league (incidentally, the site thinks the team is called Athletic, rather than Athletico) and it's way below Level 11 - I assume it's not actually part of the pyramid structure, so sorry again. --Dweller 15:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
