Traditional / simplified Chinese[edit]

Why are you removing Traditional Chinese from articles about locations in China? -- ran (talk) 02:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please stop modifying the language sections of China geography articles. All of the information there is relevant and useful. Mike 22:11, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever agenda you have, you're not being helpful. Using both Simp and Trad Chinese for Chinese geography related articles is the agreed-upon standard on Wikipedia. -- Миборовский 22:38, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Necease,请问你不断地把中国地理条目中的繁体汉字、威妥玛拼音和邮政式拼音删除,有什么特别的原因吗?-- ran (talk) 23:40, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mainland Chinese use simplified Chinese.
Traditional Chinese is useful because it helps people not familiar with simplified Chinese, be they HK/Taiwanese or a foreigner who learned to write Chinese using traditional Chinese. Besides, it is a part of our cultural heritage -- these place names were written in Traditional Chinese for centuries before simplified Chinese came along.
What about Wade-Giles and Postal System Pinyin? -- ran (talk) 21:49, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Necease, please do not remove messages from your talk page. 请你不要删除讨论页上的留言。 -- ran (talk) 21:46, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Necease, I'll say this again: please do not remove messages from your talk page, this is against Wikipedia policy. 我再说明一遍:请你不要删除你的个人讨论页上的留言,这违反了维基百科的政策。-- ran (talk) 19:07, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
