Again I have just learned to check for messages relating to my recent posting for Ngati Kuri Te Hiku o te Ika (the descriptor Tail of the Fish for the lands at the Far north of the North Island of New Zealand).
the Ngati Kuri Bebo site is my creation as is the website at msn.groups.com/NgatiKuri but I apologise I the codex is to overwhelming for me to organise a release permission. So I will leave them out.

Well this is one person who is trying to catch up quick smart and I'll click on all the choices when I next pop over. As mentioned right now it's all too much for my head to work out how to make permission notations. However just so I know is it 'never' okay to post links to other sites you have created say bebo/facebook/google, yahoo & msn webpages??

A tag has been placed on NgatiKuri requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. Hello thanks for writing to me with clear dialogue. Yes I am a real babe in arms and posted because I thought it was important to do so. One could say the wairua moved me... I so appreciate your help, guidance and support. I would like to add the macrons when i get my head around posting effectively and correctly first in plain English.

I actually couldn't understand the search directly transferring over to Kati Kuri when I typed in Ngati Kuri and now you have noted this I thank you most sincerely. Ngati Kuri Te Hiku... acknowlege with arohanui(much love) all who relate to the name Kuri e.g. Ngati Kuri ki Ngataki, Ngati Kuri ki Pawarenga, Ngati Kuri ki Rotoiti, Ngati Kuri ki Te Mahia and Ngati Kuri ki Te Wai Pounamu (South Is)
Which part of the info are you referring to... Where did the copyrighted material at the deleted NgatiKuri article come from? Under all the info I think I put the referance link... I don't know which part you are asking about because I didn't keep a copy if you can access my deleted post can you please copy and post it to my email address as I will probably pick it up quicker there?
I have corrected and added a little bit more description to the geneaology (whakapapa) (hope that is okay)?

== Dramatic == I would never have found the reference Ngati Kuri with the macrons (sorry I said dipthongs other post) as i just typed in the search box with the straight English letters. I am very happy that both ways of writing Ngati Kuri will direct to the Maori way of writing it. I thank you for championing for me and think that one reference is adequate and you don't need to do extra mahi re: the mihi. My Maori Whakapapa has come from my elders and as such would NOT be officially published but I have been given permission to use it publicly as well as the Tauparapara by the Kaumatua of NK.
On the Waitangi Tribunal website which is one of the references I put in there is Whakapapa verification from a list of Elders. I am just happy anyone can type in Ngati Kuri and it goes to the correct references.
PS Could you please tell me how people would've come across the reference with the macrons, would they have gone into say Maori Wikipedia rather than English cos I don't think it would be possible any other way to find that reference.
I acknowledge wikipedia is American created and as such my post would 'seem' to warrant deletion. I also thank the creators that they have allowed 'locals' to comment on local posts. Thank you for your comment re: others such as your irish ancestors are on Wikipedia and therefore Maori as a race as also acknowledged and veritifiable. My fault would probably my inexperience at posting and also putting reference to personal sites not valid on wikipedia.

Looks as though you've had a rough introduction to Wikipedia. This pakeha has been battin on your bhalf, but some of the administrators have been very quick to delete.
It turned out that there is already a short article on your iwi. Wikipedia technology allows full use of macrons for long vowels (e.g. Māori) and policy is to use them at all times, so the article is at Ngāti Kurī. Ngati Kuri was a link to a hapū of Ngāi Tahu, so I changed that (an iwi outranks a hapū) and added a note. To create a macron character when editing, scroll down below the edit box and you will see a lot of special character links. Clicking one will enter that character at the position of the cursor. It can't be included directly in an article but it looks like an important reference that we can cite if it is published in a book or on a website.
I was in the middle of formatting the whakapapa when the second article was deleted. The admin has put a copy of the material in my userspace so I can continue to work on it. Could you please complete and corect the translation at user:Dramatic/sandbox. NZ editors (including Maori scholars) will shortly discuss the best way to present whakapapa in articles on iwi. Here is a source that you can use. Te Ara - Muriwhenua tribes and same in Māori - tho the Māori version can really only be used on the Māori Wikipedia. Sorry you got treated a bit shabbily, Wikipedia is a bit rule governed. You have to remember that the vast majority of Wikipedians are American so anything NZ, let alone Māori, is subject to 'majority rule' and unless it has a "reliable souce" it will be deleted - and reliable sources are not sites like bebo which anyone can make. They need to be printed sources like a book, or official websites. This site is ok but this site is a personal website so not ok. Have a look at Ngāti Kurī too. By the way, when you are replying to something on a talk page, you should start your response on a new line with as many indent characters (:) as necessary to indent it one more level than the text you are replying to.
