Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Noneforall, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!

And just a note on article talk pages: use the "+" tab to start a new section; that guarantees the new section will be at the bottom of the page, where it belongs. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 17:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your signature

[edit]

If you go to "my preferences", and clear the "Signature box", and make sure that the "Raw signature" box is unchecked, then you won't have any problems with your signature that I know of, as long as you use four tildes. Of course, your signature will be a plain (clickable) "Noneforall".

If you want something fancier, you might read Wikipedia:How to fix your signature; also take a look at the guideline Wikipedia:Signatures. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 00:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your Removals of County templates

[edit]

I only removed the Suffolk County template from village articles, not towns. My reasoning behind this is that the template only links to towns and not villages or hamlets. To me, that would be akin to having the New York State template on the Brookhaven Town page. --Zimbabweed (talk) 05:49, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vadalism?

[edit]

Sorry. Won't do it again. Just curious, why do you this on wikipedia? Why do you correct things like this? It doesn't seem to be a big problem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Estoban3 (talkcontribs) 05:31, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cats (and not the kind that go meow! ;) )

[edit]

I see you attempted to add some categories to the Three Village pages. You put [[Education in Suffolk County, New York]] but what you should of put was [[Category:Education in Suffolk County, New York]]. Its okay, but please remember this in the future :). Notability of Plushgun

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Plushgun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mvjs (talk) 06:27, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion

[edit]

Hi Noneforall. I would appreciate your knowledgeable input on recent edits on the Northport article, and discussion on the talk page. I'm I wrong in my arguments? If so go ahead and be honest, but without any dissenting opinions I plan on reverting all that other guy's edits (except the citations) and I just wanted a neutral opinion. Thanks --Fife Club (talk) 01:23, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

[edit]
The Original Barnstar
I meant to award you a barnstar a long, long time ago but never got around to it. You deserve this barnstar for your hard work and dedication to several different articles, contributing new content and protecting them against vandals. Congrats. Proposed deletion of Plushgun

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Plushgun, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Plushgun

[edit]

I have nominated Plushgun, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Plushgun. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Northport's Official Website

[edit]

Hi Noneforall. I noticed that you recently updated the link for the official website of Northport, New York to northportvillageny.com. This link is different than the .gov website recently added to external links, which is northportny.gov. Yet oddly they seem to be the exact same website anyway. Interesting. I was thinking we could make both links consistent, yet still list both links at the same time. I was thinking something like this:

I used the .gov as the primary only because the Facebook site both domains are linking to lists the .gov address as their preferred URL (which is how I found it). And the external link at the bottom would be treated similarly. I'd be interested to know if you had any opposition to dual-listing the sites like that? --Fife Club (talk) 21:16, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 21:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
