Help me[edit]

i have made a short film which won two awards also in national student film award india. i wanted to make a film page as an information upon this film. but i don't find wiki page creation as an user friendly step by step procedure. i am stuck hope to pursue to create this information about my film like other films pages on wikipedia.

It is with great regret that I must inform you that, while your film must have been good to win those awards of national acclaim, your film must also be notable. That means that other sources, such as newspapers, film magazines, etc., have written about your film, and editors would be able to use those as reliable sources to describe your film. It would also help if you read Wikipedia's Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. We are not allowed to write about our own accomplishments. Your film expertise can help Wikipedia in other ways, though, if you are willing. Best of everything to you and yours! – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 19:08, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nudero66, first a sig tip: We are all asked to sign our comments on talk pages, even on our own talk page. That can be done two ways...
  1. You can type four "tildes" (~) like so — ~~~~, or
  2. (This may even be easier) You can look below the edit box (the box you use to respond) and find the "Sign your posts on talk pages:" ~~~~, then position your cursor at the end of your comment and click on those four blue tildes. Your signal will then be included after your comment.
Your inclusion of the two sources is a step in the right direction. Your honesty when you noted above that you yourself created the film page is also a good sign. Please remember, though, that we are not allowed to create nor make substantial edits (other than copyedits) to articles about our own achievements. Only an objective third party can create that article and make substantial edits to it. You can suggest the creation of the article so another contributor can create it for you, and you can suggest major edits on the article's talk page, but you should not do it yourself. If you do, then we have what is called a "conflict of interest". You can also learn more about conflict of interest at the link I gave you above. Joys and good fortune to you and yours! – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:02, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you PAINE ELLSWORTH for sig tip: as you can understand i am new at it and i don't know the laws also. but thank you for making me understand these norms of Conflict of interest. i will consider your suggestions. one more important thing, another contributor wanted to add poster on my article how he can do that? do you have any suggestion for that? it will be very helpful. That's very good use of your signature, Nudero66! Here's another quick tip for you: When you respond on talk pages, you should indent your response with an extra colon (:). I have taken the liberty of adding a colon to the very beginning of your response to me above. It is easier to see who is responding to whom when you add one more colon like that.
Okay, what you will run into when you place a photograph of the poster in your article is "copyright". Who owns the copyright for the poster? Wikipedia explains copyright on this page. That is the policy page that explains the legal considerations that you must know when you upload an image (photograph) to Wikipedia. That page will also lead you to the page that explains how to upload images. Best to you! – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:27, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
