[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Ohio Wing Civil Air Patrol, you may be blocked from editing. Drmies (talk) 17:49, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of what username you choose. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. • If you wish to continue editing here, you'll have to do so with a username that does not appear to represent any one or any organization. Moreover, edits should be made in accordance with our guidelines for neutrality, relevance, and reliable sources. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 17:55, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I was asked to establish a wikipedia page for the Ohio Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. I am the historian of the wing and wrote the original Ohio Wing wiki page. I have no prior experience with wikipedia and am not attempting to buck the rules. The recent information I was asked to add. Other information I was asked to add and it was removed. I have rewritten and edited the previous material to conform with wiki requirements to reduce promotion and instead just state the basic information with references as required. Perhaps for future reference, is there a way to save a page while editing it to check for approval prior to posting? OHWGhistorian (talk) 18:16, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

While I appreciate that you are trying to contribute in good faith, I must decline this request for the following reasons:

  • You were blocked because your username represents a group, and as such it cannot be unblocked. You may request that this account's name be changed, but your unblock request didn't specify that you wish to change your username to something that represents only you. Your past contribution history would be assigned to the new username.
  • You don't seem to be familiar with the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline — and you clearly have a conflict of interest. Please read that prior to making a new unblock request.
  • You don't seem to understand the reason why you have been blocked, and you have not stated how you would edit Wikipedia in the future given your conflict of interest.

To answer your final question, the best way to work on a draft is to work on it in your own user space. You can create a sub-page such as User:OHWGhistorian/DraftArticle (as an example) and work on it at your leisure without interference, before moving the material to main article space ~Amatulić (talk) 18:35, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
