Population

[edit]

Hey @Golden just wondering where you sourced the ADR population number of 4,617,671 from? It seems quite high compared to estimates of 2.5 million I have seen. Cheers - ๐‘ต๐’–๐’๐’–๐’™๐’™๐’™ โœช ๐‘‡๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘˜ 01:48, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, nowhere. I just copy pasted the infobox from the existing article with a few tweaks. I'm planning to change it again in the future. โ€” Golden call me maybe? 09:08, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Background

[edit]

@Nunuxxx: Hello. I've completed the Background section (remaining sourcing will be done later). Let me know what you think of it. โ€” Golden call me maybe? 15:57, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's quite good, if not a tad long. I also have some books which may help with international diplomacy of the ADR that I can add in the history section. - ๐‘ต๐’–๐’๐’–๐’™๐’™๐’™ โœช ๐‘‡๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘˜ 09:38, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Hello @Golden, I've added a bunch of sources and reformatted some to the SFN format, I think we should rely on the following sources for the bulk of the article as they seem reliable and provide an abundance of relevant information:

  • Azerbaijan Since Independence - Svante E. Cornell
  • Russian Azerbaijan, 1905โ€“1920 The Shaping of a National Identity in a Muslim Community - Tadeusz Swietochowski
  • Foreign Policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan The Difficult Road to Western Integration, 1918โ€“1920 - Jamil Hasanli
  • The Azerbaijani Turks - Audrey L. Altstadt
  • Azerbaijan National Democratic Movement 1917โ€“1929 - Aydin Balayev
  • The Republic of Armenia - Richard G. Hovannisian
  • Atlas of the Ethno-Political History of the Caucasus - Arthur Tsutsiev
  • The Struggle For Transcaucasia, 1917โ€“1921 - Firuz Kazemzadeh

Hi, Olympian. Great, I already have most of these sources so, it shouldn't be a problem. Although I do currently have an active topic ban from topics relating to conflicts involving Armenia or Azerbaijan, so I won't be able to contribute to any parts of this project that relates to conflicts (Armenia-Azerbaijan war, Russian invasion, Ottoman battles etc.), but should be able to continue work relating to the government and internal matters of the republic as soon as I find more time. Cheers. โ€” Golden call me maybe? 11:33, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

[edit]

Hello @Golden, happy holidays! I recently finished rewriting the First Republic of Armenia article and nominated it for GA, I was planning on implementing a similar layout and structure to this article as well to help it flow better, at least chronologically. Let me know if you have any objections or ideas. Best, โ€“ Olympian loquere 12:59, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Olympian, thank you! Happy holidays to you too! I did see the rewrite of FRA article, and you've done a fantastic job. I have no objections to the current structuring. I may make minor adjustments to a few section titles as I work on them, but it looks satisfactory overall. โ€” Golden call me maybe? 17:20, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
