This page should not be speedily deleted because... (I simply described who I am and my connection to Occupy Democrats, so that I can make a request to have a page created for my organization, Occupy Democrats. I already submitted the request under the Politics-Organizations subreddit. Thank you.) --Omarrivero (talk) 03:48, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because I made it myself about myself, it is accurate, and I am simply disclosing my relation to Occupy Democrats so that I can file a request for wikipedia users to create an article about Occupy Democrats. Thank you

About Wikipedia

Why does my user page keep getting tagged for speedy deletion? I am trying to create a request for an article on my organization, Occupy Democrats. I read that I must disclose my connection (I am the founder) to it on my user page, which I did, but it keeps getting tagged for speedy deletion. What am I doing wrong?

@Omarrivero:, welcome to Wikipedia. I have recreated your user page with the proper way to disclose conflict of interest. External links to personal pages are generally not permitted for new accounts as it creates the impression of single purpose account, and the image of not here to build an encylopedia. Please let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Alex ShihTalk 06:16, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Shih: Thank you SO MUCH! You are a lifesaver. I created a request for my an article to be created HERE:

Can you please tell me if I did everything right? Also, what is the next step? I am new to this :) Thanks again!

Yes, the request looks fine. The next step would be to wait for an editor to take on the task of creating the article, which would likely be a very long wait. Alternatively, you may visit Wikipedia:Articles for creation to submit a draft for review, and this process would be slightly faster. Alex ShihTalk 06:52, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
