Commercial spam

[edit]

Please refrain from further additions to Wikipedia articles with non-free commercial images. These images also obstruct the existing content and are hard to read in standard viewing formats of the pages. Images should supplement content, not contain extensive reading material. kbrose (talk) 17:08, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Kbrose, it is my intention to share knowledge and make it accessible. When i create these infographics, I share them on my blog with the intention and caption that these infographics can be shared freely. In my experience, presenting information graphically, makes it accessible for a vast additional audience. Take me for instance: I am dislectic and these kind of presentations help me a lot to bring clarity.
lso graphical presentations are a good first impression confirming you are at the right page and is worth the time to read and study in detail. Could you please elaborate on what should change in order to get the images back?A

Hi @Kbrose, i have put a lot of effort in my contributions and would appreciate feedback when all my work is cancelled. Infographics are excellent tools for knowledge sharing. I also understand there is always room for improvement. Could you please provide feedback? OnnoMCXess (talk) 08:37, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I already gave you my assessment. You might find it appropriate and useful on your commercial site, and there I suppose you get your reward for creating it, it appears as commercial spam on Wikipedia, and at least some of the content that I saw is not in balance with that of the article. kbrose (talk) 15:32, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Kbrose, can you help me further? The images are free and the pages on which they have been published initially are not commercial. These paegs are purely for knowledge sharing. A.o. they do not have a CTA or any other promotion - they simply share knowledge and best practises. The inforgraphics themselves present telephone numbering format standards as defined by the ITU-T and (on country specific pages) a short explanation of what types of phone numbers are available in the respective country. Please let me know where you see the issue? Maybe i am overlooking anything. If so, i can change that. OnnoMCXess (talk) 15:56, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@OnnoMCXess Wikipedia is usually the wrong place for infographics. I see that you have been uploading images to Wikimedia Commons, where infographics are welcome (provided that they are intended for education rather than promotion).
Also, please respond to commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by OnnoMCXess#Files uploaded by OnnoMCXess (talk · contribs) 2, which is related to this discussion. Brianjd (talk) 13:29, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
