[edit]Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Graywalls (talk) 00:24, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Orangesnlemons. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Industrial and organizational psychology, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Hello, I see that you've been inserted things related to Alliance for Organizational Psychology going back as far as 2022. Do you have any affiliation with the Alliance, its partners or affiliates? Graywalls (talk) 01:22, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Absolutely none and I just added the type of reference you seem to be looking for to support this part. https://usq.pressbooks.pub/psychologycareers/chapter/industrial-organisational/. However I am not sure how to properly reference this 2022 text book so have just added the URL. Maybe you could help me format the source for Wikipedia?
- Please see WP:SPS and WP:RS. Generally, name drops should be avoided especially if it can not be referenced to secondary sources as it can cause promotionalism espeically when novel concepts and/or organizations names are involved. Also, please use edit summary to concisely explain what you did in each edit. Graywalls (talk) 02:09, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Industrial and Organizational Psychology
[edit]@Orangesnllemons, I hope you can fix up the I-O psychology entry. It would be helpful if you could fix up the remuneration section. I reverted Graywalls's deletion of the section. Also for your information, he deleted paragraphs from the leadership section and put it on the I-O Talk page. I hope that you could restore that too with citations. You've been doing good work on WP. Thanks. Iss246 (talk) 01:55, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your encouragement. I commented on the issue at the article. Orangesnlemons (talk) 01:50, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- If you are going to fix up the section on remuneration in the I-O psychology page, you should do it soon. GW deleted the short paragraph on remuneration. Iss246 (talk) 03:03, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
