Reply: French flag

[edit]

You're kinda wrong. First, the current tone of blue was only used after 1946 and 1958 constitutions. Before that, the File:Flag of France (1794–1815, 1830–1958).svg was widely used and, till this day, is still recognized as an official variation of the flag of the country by the french government. So, for you to say "never existed" it's completely not true. Coltsfan (talk) 01:25, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Again, not quite, particularly if you take from the principle that the blue in the tricolour comes from the flag of Paris, and the tone of that blue was always always 'darker'. And the french government recognized many flags throughout its history as its official flag; though, in fact, in 1946 and 1958 was the years that it was 'written down', but like i said, that flag was recognized then and it just as so right now. To claim that that flag was "never used" as an official flag is simply not true. Even Encyclopædia Britannica acknowledges that. This topic was already covered here in this link, but if you want to broad this conversation and look for other people's opinions, you might open a new discussion on the talk page of the french flag article (here).
