Oz Steps, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Oz Steps! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Umm... who do you think you are?! I don't recall anyone telling me that Rihanna's face had to be clear in order for it to be in the infobox! To let you know something, I've been using Wikipedia for more than almost nine months now and you're just getting started, so please don't judge the work I do here on Wikipedia! I am just as far more close to becoming one more level higher on Wikipedia than you are! If I didn't get a complaint by a bureaucat, admin, or a bot, I don't want any complaint from another autoconfirmed user that is in a lower level than I am! Thank you! Halle Berry photo
[edit]You suggested I go to the talk page about changing the photo. The talk page is not active, so that means I would have to personally contact several editors and instruct them to visit the talk page to give their opinion. Why bother? The photo is obviously better in every way. The other photo is badly lit, out of focus, and at a bad angle (she's not looking into the camera). That photo was changed from a different one months ago without any consensus. I think you'll agree that the current one I've changed it to is the best. Helliea (talk) 21:23, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- I see the new image better, as this is old, since 2010 is about 3 years ago. It also noted, and his eyes are not interview for the camera. That you want to give your opinion to other users, only in the discussion page of the article. Thanks. --Oz Steps (talk) 02:00, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I reached out to seven different Wiki editors; only one of them actually posted a response on the talk page, basically saying that both images are fine. I'm putting the 2010 image back in the infobox (2010 is recent enough) and it's much more flattering than the 2012 cropped photo. Helliea (talk) 20:22, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, but I do not see any consensus to change the Infobox photo, In the discussion page. Good luck. --Oz Steps (talk) 02:25, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Well, what do you advise? I contact seven editors and only one replies, saying they don't care. The current image that is being used was added without consensus, you know. Helliea (talk) 02:41, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Found it. Here is the archived edit to where the image was changed without consensus. So at least there is consensus to change it back to the 2011 Oscars photo, which is better than nothing, since I really hate that photo from the Cloud Atlas premiere. Helliea (talk) 02:48, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi there. I realize that you mean well, and you do a lot of upkeep in infobox pictures of celebrities, nonetheless I must ask you to cease reverting the placement of the community accepted 2008 Liv Tyler picture, which we have had in that article in the infobox for many years now. It is a very good picture of her, and the best one we have, frankly. Someone put in the inferior dark 2012 picture there relatively recently and you keep putting it back there, despite other editors restoring the status quo. There is nothing to discuss here, despite your misleading edit summary stating just the opposite. Your cooperation in this matter is expected. Best wishes, --Mareklug talk 04:31, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Mareklug. again you change the picture. I will retrieve, this old picture. Please, will not change infobox image. when we see the opinions of other users. And sure to be approved, the latest picture of the year 2012. This is currently the new image.
- Comment. This is a good article, and the picture in the infobox should be newer than that. Please do not change the image, but when we see the opinion of other users. Best wishes, --Oz Steps (talk) 16:18, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- That is entirely YOUR opinion alone, as the picture you are shoving in is inferior at best, photographically speaking. Encyclopedically, Lyv Tyler deserves the best picture we have in her infobox, from the peak of her career, not the chronologically latest picture, which appears in the article anyway, only later on down in the text. Also, you have no consensus behind your repeated action. And lastly, you are about to break the WP:3RR rule if you revert me again. And you already are edit-warring over this issue, and could be blocked for that already. I also noticed that nearly all your edits amount to substituting pictures in infoboxes of celebrities. I suggest you resume discussing this particular substitution yourself in the section on the article's talk page, and start reading what others are writing there. Kind regards, --Mareklug talk 17:54, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Comment: you have violated the WP:3RR rule by reverting my restoring the 2008 image and now placing in its place a poor crop of it that you performed and did not get any backing for. Your revert is still your revert, even though you did so while being anonymous IP editor. Currently there is a discussion going on on the article's talk page, and I suggest you do not edit-war anymore, pending the outcome of that discussion, especially considering that the opinions are 3-1 against you, and you are the alone 1. --Mareklug talk 19:15, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Please consider, in a conversation Talk:Liv Tyler. Thanks. --Oz Steps (talk) 11:36, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]My crop is from the original tiff file and doesn't cut off her hair at the top or the sides. If you can't see the difference, then there's no reason why you should revert. – Kerαunoςcopia◁galaxies 21:01, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, i see the Headshot is a best. I do not see cropping the hair in this picture. and also I see that there is no difference between the two images, it is similar. Sorry for this. --Oz Steps (talk) 21:11, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- Well I see a difference, the other crop is from a JPG, mine is from a TIFF. I found the other crop a tad too tight. I've run into you before and you have a tendency to own articles, as if your way is THE way. So it looks like this is going to be an issue. I'm reverting you again. Revert me one more time and I will report you for 3RR. This is no different than tweaking someone else's sentence by even one word just to get it right. – Kerαunoςcopia◁galaxies 21:17, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Comment: This user's contributions are all force-fed impositions of HIS IMAGES or images HE FAVORS on articles. Nearly all of what he does is reverts without edit summaries, or at best, reverts where he insists the other users start a discussion on the talk page. Please examine his contributions from when he obtained a login username, as well as what he is doing right now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Oz_Steps I have discussed this at length with other neutral parties participating at Talk:Liv Tyler#New Image. The user is disruptive not just on English Wikipedia but also as an IP on many other projects, where his only contribution from a given IP will be a change in the infobox picture, usually for the much worse. This needs probably a global indefinite block, if the behavior does not improve. --Mareklug talk 17:55, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
