Wikipedia is not a memorial to the dead. Are the biographies of these people notable in some way? If not, they will be deleted as non-notable according to WP:BIO. It is unfortunate that they were killed but they need to be notable in order to merit a biographical entry on Wikipedia. (aeropagitica) (talk) 11:56, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: Imran Rizvi
[edit]Hello, I just deleted this thing. Articles that have no content at all don't belong in Wikipedia, as outlined in speedy deletion criteria.
So here's two tips:
- Prepare the articles at least somewhat before posting them, outlining at least some basic information. You can either save them to a file on your computer, or use user page subpages to prepare them.
- Please consider the biographical notability guidelines. As noted above, dying in a famous disaster regrettably doesn't make people notable in itself...
So please don't put up a "page under construction" thing. When we see a red link, we know the page is "under construction". And every article in Wikipedia is always under construction anyway. =) Don't be disappointed though, happy editing! --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 12:57, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Memorial
[edit]The following at the end of Rajesh Kumar is most indicative:
- Back to Pan Am Flight 73 Home Page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_Am_Flight_73
It suggests a) you cannot be bothered to learn Wiki markup: the link in question should have been coded as Pan Am Flight 73 and b) you are treating Wikipedia as a personal web site.
WP:NOT specifically excludes the use of Wikipedia as a free host and as a memorial site. By all means create a memorial site but, please, not on Wikipedia. -- RHaworth 19:17, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Let me be a bit more positive: see if Wikia will host a memorial site for you. -- RHaworth 05:43, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
All deleted
[edit]I've just deleted the rest of them per CSD A7 and CSD A1/A3, except two: Neerja Bhanot, who is up for WP:PROD, and Ganapathi Thanikaimoni, who is independently notable. Please don't recreate them - these were not appropriate articles. - CrazyRussian talk/email 19:20, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
