Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Manicawriter, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was MANICA Architecture, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Drmies (talk) 16:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
So you went and created another account? Like, we wouldn't notice? Here is the thing: you need to read the rules in the message I placed here. Your next edit needs to be to declare your COI, as is indicated in the above message IN BOLD PRINT, or this account will be blocked too. And only then can you start thinking about article content--after you practice neutral encyclopedic writing. Drmies (talk) 16:29, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- I am trying to request someone else to update and edit the MANICA Architecture Wikipedia page, how do I go about doing that? Manicawriter (talk) 21:19, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
- Eh, that someone else is going to have the same conflict of interest. I suppose you could go online and find someone and pay them, but the moment an editor gets an inkling that they're on the take, all this starts all over again. Or you could simply read the guidelines and follow them if an unblock request is granted. But what you really need to do is stop thinking of Wikipedia as an advertising medium, and then consider that a decent Wikipedia article whose content follows our policies, even if it's not an ad, is not bad for your company. Drmies (talk) 00:59, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
I thought I read somewhere that a Wikipedia editor could update the company's page if I were to request it, and that I could work with them and give them content with reliable sources that they would then add to the page as an unbiased third party after fact-checking all the information. Maybe I read wrong. This is my first time using Wikipedia for editing purposes, and after I realized my mistake and conflict of interest I did read the guidelines. I do not see this as an advertising medium. I simply want to make sure the company's page is up to date, which it is currently not. I realize that the current page is not bad for the company, it is just not up to date if someone were to search it and want to know more. Manicawriter (talk) 12:39, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- You can be an editor here, with a conflict of interest, as long as you a. declare that conflict of interest and b. edit according to our rules. For some administrators that means you don't edit your own article at all and you limit yourself to the article talk page, where you can place edit requests. But all this tells me that you didn't really read the message above and follow its links. If you had done that, you would have known what you can and cannot do here, and until you do, there's really not much I can say (let alone do). Drmies (talk) 15:39, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- That's what I'm trying to say. I would probably go through the article talk page and file requests for someone else to officially enter in the information. Apologies for not using the exact lingo, like I said, first-time user here, and there are many details covered in what I have read. I did follow the links and have been going over things with the Arbitration Committee as well. I've been getting a lot of information at once and was trying to clarify, albeit with imprecise language that might have made it confusing for those who know the correct vernacular, some of the things I was confused on after having read through everything. I will go through the article talk page. Manicawriter (talk) 18:34, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- What I am trying to say, for the third time now? "Declare that conflict of interest". Read the policy. I am going to block you and until you do this, you will remain blocked. Drmies (talk) 22:25, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Okay, I understand that I cannot even request an edit by someone else because of my COI. However, the page for the company is still lacking a lot of information. How are we supposed to make sure the page for the company is accurate if I can't even request that someone else edit the page through the company's Talk Page, like I tried to do before I was blocked?
