1992 Stanley Cup Finals, writing etiquette[edit]

Welcome!

I noticed your edits on the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals game summaries. Just so you're aware, when writing or editing an article it is important to not use bias or favoritism when writing. As hockey fans we have a favorite team, but on Wikipedia we cannot show this favoritism otherwise such edits will be discarded or reverted and can also be considered vandalism. We must write with a neutral point of view. Based on edits on the game summaries of 1992, there seems to be more favoritism towards Pittsburgh. Now whether it is intended or not please make sure to be more neutral. Also do not use tertiary sources with hockey articles unless supported with secondary or primary sources. Funny that I alledgedly show bias in favor of Pittsburgh, as I vividly remember rooting for Chicago as a kid. Maybe a case of overcompensating, who knows. I'll definitely look into it.

I find it a bit difficult, though, to grasp why the video (Youtube or any other source) that features the game I'm writing about should not be considered a primary source - after all, what can be more "game" than the game itself? Plus, in my mind, any comment made by an announcer should be considered as much a secondary source as any article written by a writer.

That being said, if there is something about hockey writing on this platform that I may seem oblivious to, I'd be more than happy to learn about it. Patrik Walter (talk) 16:08, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
