Hey there. I volunteer here along with James, Jacob, and Doug, who were all at this event. I was just looking at the event page because I was doing some research on previous outreach to potential medical editors. I noticed you've been working on your sandbox. That's great. I think what you've added there could be moved over to PLOS Medicine without much more effort. Thank you for your work! Since we're to be based off of third-party sources (though primary sources are OK if used with care), what would help is this: could you add third-party sources (alongside the PLOS ones)? That way it shows readers and editors that the content we add isn't just picked because we think it is important, but because reliable third-party sources do. You are welcome to ask me any questions at my talk page (or send me an email). Also, you can always ask questions at the WP:Teahouse, at the discussion page for the medicine project, or on anyone's talk page you've met. Thanks again! That's good to hear, and thanks for the reply. I've been helping James with a version of an article we've submitted to one of those journals. Thanks for discussing things with him! I see what you've done in the sandbox area, and it makes sense. It could probably stand on its own, though secondary sources form the basis of Wikipedia so if the article could cite some more of those it would help. I recommend for you to drop us a note at WT:MED and declare any potential (or appearance of) conflict of interest once you are happy with the sandbox version. That way you can get others to check on it before you post if you have any lingering doubts about its form. If you're confident it would be something a neutral editor would agree on, then you could just add it to the article, and posting at Talk:PLOS Medicine to note any potential conflict of interest would be a respected/expected practice. Thanks again for your reply, and sorry to throw out so much "policy" stuff. Some people complain that there are too many policies and guidelines, but I think they all tend to produce a good encyclopedia when applied correctly. Best. Cheers, thanks for the pointer. I got in touch with the folk over at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Academic_Journals#PLOS_Medicine before I started but I'll certainly drop note over at WT:MED too.
