Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bishonen | tålk 13:13, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I have no intention of promoting my business on official wikipedia pages other than my own page which is just an explanation of my username. The purpose of mentioning it is trying to add credit to me as an editor as a trustworthy game design source. If you want me to delete the part I've done as a company, or that it is even a company from my user page, I will

Decline reason:

You will not be allowed to edit with this username. Please see the username policy. Please also read conflict of interest. If you intend to make edits that are unrelated to your company, please tell what; I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 19:21, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Edits that I would like to make are within game design. Basically the stuff I and my colleagues teach my students (I'm a game design teacher at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, my company is inactive because of that role), enriching Wikipedia. And of course, if a student has some great new theory published, it would be nice to add it to Wikipedia. Playjoy (talk) 19:52, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I get one can't take a company name as user. But from what I understand, I can use the 'Playjoy'-part if I add more as it then doesn't contain only the company name? Like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth?target=Playjoygame ? So for example, PlayJoyDesign would be good? Just thinking aloud here.

@331dot: Could you answer my question? 87.212.171.210 (talk) 21:41, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize, I have been away. "PlayJoyDesign" is not individualistic enough. Something like "JohnDoe of PlayJoy" is okay. You don't need to use your real name or any proper name, but your username must be individualistic. 331dot (talk) 19:11, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
