Deletion discussion about Expected Goals

[edit]

Hello, Postillion,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Expected Goals should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Expected Goals .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Thank you for this alert. I am open to the community's guidance on this page. I do think it is notable and is a significant issue in the analysis of association football performance. There is a provenance to the concept that dates back to at least 1993. Most of the discussion about the concept has taken place on social media.

I would assert that it is notable and might even be a WikiNews item.

I really appreciate your alert.

I have been thinking about the concerns about the page and wondered in what way it differed from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shot_quality

If I can understand the difference I hope I can craft an appropriate page.
