Kelvin[edit]

D'oh! I actually went and read the Kelvin article, which I should have done first. You're absolutely right. I was dead wrong. - Beowulf314159 15:49, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A word of local wisdom?[edit]

Poulpy,

Your knowledgable input will be much appreciated in the request to move vote going on at List of tallest structures in Paris.

I suggested this move because the title of this article is inaccurate; most of what this article contains is not "in Paris" but well outside of it. It is important in Wiki, to maintain verifiability, that articles have the administrative name of the area where their content can be found. One will not find towers in Courbevoie under an "in Paris" title in any reference.

I had proposed List of tallest structures in the Paris region, as "Paris region" encompasses everything contained in the article, and has connotations of "in and around Paris" to the layman; it is also the official translation of Île-de-France. Since opening the above there has been a counter-proposal: in an even more strict adherence to Wiki naming conventions, that it be literally named "in Île-de-France". I'm sure there are other suitable titles such as "Paris agglomeration" (though it is non-administrative) - anyhow your input in this as a 'local' (instead of an ignorant foreigner like me : ) would I'm sure be both welcome and respected.

Regards,

Tallest structures - "Paris area"[edit]

A few of us have managed to come into agreement over an "in the Paris area" title - as a former participant in the discussion, your views and vote on the matter would much be welcome at Talk:List of tallest buildings and structures in Paris. Thank you. THEPROMENADER 17:39, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Doomsday (demogroup)[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Doomsday (demogroup), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 14:15, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Xerrox Vol.1, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.discogs.com/release/923875. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Xerrox Vol.1[edit]

A tag has been placed on Xerrox Vol.1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 19:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:47, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Crystal Dream 2[edit]

The article Crystal Dream 2 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
