Independent reliable sources, book announcements
[edit]Hello Pseudosalacia, thank you for your interest in improving Wikipedia articles. But most content in Wikipedia should be based on independent reliable sources, not on self-published announcements or blogs. Self-published sources are usually discouraged and only acceptable in a limited number of use cases. You'll find a detailed description of Wikipedia's criteria for reliable sources at WP:RS. Please also avoid adding announcements for unpublished books and links to book-selling sites (the ISBN and some bibliographic info is usually sufficient to identify a book - a seller's link is not needed and promotional). If you have any questions about editing and guidelines, please feel free to ask at WP:Teahouse, a good forum for new editors. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 12:47, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

February 2020
[edit]Hello, just wanted to let you know that you seem to have inadvertently copied and pasted half the infobox into the article when editing Hou Yifan. No big deal, I've fixed it. Going forward, please get in the habit of using the Preview function, which will help you avoid such errors. I'll attach an automated message about that below. Thanks, Jessicapierce (talk) 00:05, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Hou Yifan, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.
It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 00:05, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
