NPOV & Welcome[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Fox News Channel. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. /Blaxthos 09:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fox News is obviously a right-wing media organization and has a conservative bias. Look at the facts and come to your own conclusion.— Preceding unsigned comment added by REscano (talkcontribs) 10:33, 24 January 2007
I don't disagree with your conclusion. I (and many others) have worked hard for a long time to ensure that their bias is noted and presented in a way that does not violate our neutral point of view policy. Anything added to the project needs to be WP:Verifiable by citing reliable sources within the article. At no time may editors add their own commentary or analysis to articles, as it constitutes original research and violates WP:NPOV. You and I may know that Fox News is biased, but there are others who believe they are not; our job is to ensure that all factual information is presented with a neutral point of view.
Also, as a side note, blanking your talk page (especially when warning templates have been applied) is not the accepted procedure on how to WP:ARCHIVE your page, although it's not an uncommon actiion of new users. /Blaxthos 16:57, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Point taken. And sorry, I didn't know I wasn't allowed to clear my talk page.REscano 17:15, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, it takes us all a while to learn the ropes. You are allowed to do whatever you want with your talk/user pages, just sometimes those with less than noble intentions remove warnings from their talk pages so as to go undetected. The preferred method is to WP:ARCHIVE conversations no longer needed. Again, welcome and please contribute to Wikipedia... we need people from all viewpoints to contribute and ensure that we are encompassing all viewpoints within the policy and guidelines. Cheers! /Blaxthos 19:57, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
