"Blu-ray isn't capable of 1920x1080 50-p playback"

Hello Rafael300, I just wanted to tell you that I agree with you and to assure you that – and that's what matters – the facts are on our side. Unfortunately, some people don't take kindly to the truth (as Norman Vincent Peale supposedly once said: "The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism."), and I just got bogged down in a very lengthy, cumbersome and seemingly futile discussion about the matter on my talk page, which you're welcome to chime in to, although I myself am close to giving up, due to frustration and exhaustion. Quote "== "Blu-ray isn't capable of 1920x1080 50-p playback" == Then can you explain to me why almost every pre-mastered blu-ray disc sold is stated on the back as being in 1080p format?" - It is stated on the back of most Blu-ray titles that they are in 1080p format because Blu-ray is capable of 1080p resolution at only 1080p24 and 1080p23.976 - see the Blu-ray specification which is referenced in the article. It is NOT capable of 1080p at 50 fps (1080p50), but it is capable of 50i and 60i at 1920x1080. Rafael300 (talk) 06:57, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Raefael300[reply]
