Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... Bonjour,

Hi @Ranitahiti:, I will answer in both English and Google Translated French, however it would be helpful if you could converse in English on English Wikipedia.
The personal blog of Mr Pauli would not be suitable as a source as it is a Primary Source, not secondary. Further, it will not be classed as a reliable source as it is what Mr Pauli says about himself... Please see WP:42. Can I ask what you connection is to Mr Pauli?

No. Usage of primary sources is discouraged in biographies of living people (BLPs). And blogs (which are self-published sources (SPS)) are more or less disallowed due to the lack of verifiability (policy on SPSs and BLPs). Due to the sensitive nature of BLPs, we generally allow only reliable sources for sourcing on BLPs. And anyways, Wikipedia is interested in what secondary, reliable sources say about a person (or anything in general), not what the person has to say about themselves. Also, as Rich mentioned above, please let us know how you are linked with Mr. Pauli: if you are paid by him for your work, or are closely related to him. It is absolutely essential that you reply truthfully in this regard. JavaHurricane 13:29, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey ! Thank you both so much for your answer!

Sorry I didn't know I was on English Wikipedia... I thought I was on the French one. (I am new on Wikipedia... I learn everyday). But no problem, I can converse in English! :)

I have no personal link with Mr. Pauli. I am only a volunteer who help his foundation with several works to do.

Thank you very much for your precious informations. Now I know!

I'm trying to respect the rules here, but it's not so easy at the beginning...

Thanks again!

As you are a volunteer helping his foundation, you have a COI (Wikipedia:Conflict of interest) with him: you'll have to declare your COI as mentioned here. See Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for more guidance on this topic. It's essential this is done. JavaHurricane 13:42, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ! Really? But I never meet him ! I'm just trying to complete his page by taking reliable informations on internet. --Ranitahiti (talk) 13:46, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not even a member of his foundation. I was just asked to enrich the page. Nobody told me to put specific informations or anything. I am just making some research on Internet. --Ranitahiti (talk) 13:51, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nonetheless you have, according to Wikipedia's definition, a COI, so it's best to declare it and confirm with said policy. I can understand it is frustrating, but that's how things occur here: it's a protocol of sorts best followed for all's best. Hope you understand. Also, could you tell us who "told" you to "enrich" the page? JavaHurricane 15:06, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
