Information icon Hello, I'm Apparition11. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Product (business) have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 10:27, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Apparition11, thanks for the message. May be the external link that I have added was not relevant. In future I will look for the more appropriate links. Rgujrati (talk) 11:57, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Product information management. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Hello Apparition11, I wanted to tell you that the link that I have added is the complete and extensive guide explaining "What is Product Information Management". At the webpage, you can find everything about PIM, from what it is, why it is important, to how to implement it in the business. The webpage is relevant and covers end-to-end topic related to product information management. It is not promotional. I don`t know why you feel that the link is a spam. I am requesting you to please go through the page here and review the content on the page.
Let me know your thoughts on the same. I will wait for your reply. Rgujrati (talk) 14:22, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is a link to a company website. It is not a reliable, third party source. So far, every one of your article edits has been to add a link to this website. You may need to review WP:PAID. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 17:21, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Apparition11, hope you are doing well. Here I have a question. You said that the link I have added is a company website but when I looked at wiki page of Product information management, I found 3 more companies link as a reference, 2,6,11 (Akeneo, Shopify & Plytix). These companies also offer PIM services/products, similar to Pimcore. So, does they are added because of Paid-contributions?. If so then how much $?
I will wait for your reply. Thanks. Rgujrati (talk) 05:32, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They very well could have been. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who want to use Wikipedia for promotion or to make a profit and volunteer time is limited. Therefore, spam edits slip through sometimes. If you want to help trim these inappropriate links, you are more than welcome to. I have no idea how much they would've paid or gotten paid and, honestly, find it abhorrent that people would pay or accept payment to take advantage of a non-profit site like Wikipedia. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 05:48, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Apparition11, I don`t if they have made any paid contribution. The links are redirecting to page that explains about "What is Product Information Management". So, I have also added Pimcore link that covers end-to-end about PIM. But, as you said company website links can`t be added so, you must remove other companies links (2,6,11) also, from the wiki page of Product information management. Rgujrati (talk) 06:10, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I may do some more clean up on it later, but I most certainly do not "must" do anything. Perhaps you should try to make some constructive edits before trying to tell constructive editors what they "must" do. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 06:14, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Apparition11, sorry if you feel bad about the word "must" but what I want to tell you that, you removed the Pimcore link in just few minutes without reading the content on the page, which nicely covers everything about Product Information Management. The reason you gave was that it is company link. But, you didn`t remove other companies link on the wiki page of Product information management. That is strange! I just want to know the logic behind this. Rgujrati (talk) 06:47, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've already told you that sometimes inappropriate links slip through. I removed a few last night in bed between replies to you. I've spent more time replying to you than I have editing main space. Your spam was easy to catch since you added it to a page that I've previously removed spam from first. I followed you from that page to this page. If you want to help, again, you are more than welcome to help trim the inappropriate links. However, you still have not shown any desire to help, just advertise that site. You still have not made any declarations about your paid editing. You have certainly wasted a lot of my time. Therefore, I hope that I am wrong and you start editing to benefit Wikipedia and not that company, but since there is zero indication that that could happen, I am going to quit wasting my time and responding here. Feel free to help Wikipedia; feel free to just stop damaging Wikipedia; or feel free to end up blocked and possibly get the site blacklisted. Your choice. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 12:57, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Apparition11, I have no intention to upset you. This is the first time I am working on Wikipedia, so I might not aware of complete rules. Since, some of the companies placed their link on the wiki page, so I have done the same. But the good thing is that I have indirectly helped you in removing the spam links from the Product information management. I will happy to help you in making wiki pages getting free from inappropriate links.
Secondly, can you please share with me more details regarding the paid editing and contribution. Also, it will be great if we can connect on social platforms Linkedin, where we can discuss more about the paid editing activity. Here is my Linkedin profile.
Again, I am sorry if I have upset you. I will wait for your reply. Thanks. Rgujrati (talk) 14:39, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rgujrati. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rgujrati. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rgujrati|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:14, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kuru, I want to make this clear that, I don`t make paid editing and don`t receive any compensation on the edits. I found the information in the article relevant and thus I wrote the paragraph and added the publisher`s reference. I have a doubt, if you have read the paragraph. I am again sharing the same here. Let me know if you find this irrelevant for the wiki page, eCommerce.
To scale revenue in a multi-channel eCommerce business, you can focus on expanding your product offerings, improving your customer service, and increasing your marketing efforts. Diversifying your sales channels can also help you reach a wider audience and reduce your dependence on any single channel. This can be achieved by selling your products on multiple online marketplaces, as well as through your own website and brick-and-mortar stores. You can also consider offering new services or products to your existing customer base, or exploring new customer segments that align with your brand. An efficient integration of PIM, DAM, or MDM systems automates publishing processes across devices and enables seamless access to relevant information that can be communicated with target audiences via any channel. Rgujrati (talk) 08:56, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Let me be more clear: do not make any more promotional posts for you company, where you are employed as a marketing/SEO hack. Do not post trite marketing "how to" claims sourced to your co-worker's blog post. I'm not interested in a passive-aggressive back-and-forth; do not make another COI edit without the proper disclosures. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:22, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
