[edit]Hi Ricky, welcome to Wikipedia. Please provide a brief edit summary when you edit articles - especially when (e.g. recent edit to RAOC article) you remove a lot of text.
A couple of the articles you've written may be of questionable notability so to give your contributions a good chance to last I'd recommend ensuring there are sufficient 3rd-party references. Another thing to think about is what categories to put the new articles in. DexDor (talk) 18:59, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Invitation to join MILHIST
[edit]Welcome to MILHIST
[edit]Hello and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you are interested, or you can add it directly to your user page by copying the following: {{WPMILHIST Announcements}}.
- Important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, and article logistics.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a set of guidelines that cover article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention, as well as a number of review alerts.
- If you have an idea for improving the project, we have a strategy think tank that provides a dedicated forum for discussing it.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the project coordinators or any other experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome, and we are looking forward to seeing you around! Anotherclown (talk) 10:11, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
my error
[edit]I apologize for my series of very confusing errors this morning with your article Controllers/Directors/Directors General Ordnance Services 1942-1983) When I realized that I had idiotically missed seeing the main page, I was forced by a technical limitation that even as an admin I could not over-ride to move it to its current name General Ordnance Services heads 1942-1983. I think I fixed the redirects. My apologies. Please don't think of this as a bad omen. I, and the other people here too, are not usually so foolish. DGG ( talk ) 17:09, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
no problems
[edit]Thanks for getting in touch and absoloutely no need to apologise. In due course might change title a little when I have constructed the complete list from 1892-1993. I am a neophyte at all this and left the article unfinished because I could not get the tabulation right. Your layout most helpful. Ricky Shaw (User talk: Ricky Shaw) 22:37, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
