March 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Babegriev. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Panjabi MC, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Bgv. (talk) 22:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It was a complementary opinion which reflects the popular viewpoint of the artist. 2U4UMUSIC (talk) 22:47, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Everything needs a source. Secretlondon (talk) 21:22, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website - I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a change of username of your current account here. The new username must represent only yourself as an individual and comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you.

Request reason:

I hereby request to be unblocked so that I can change my username to "RobAt2U4U" as I was previously unaware of the Wikipedia policy on usernames which purport to represent a group 2U4UMUSIC (talk) 22:20, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Renamed so unblocked. Please note that you've been violating WP:COI and WP:PROMO. You must immediately declare your conflict of interest prior to editing further. Yamla (talk) 10:36, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed all contributions which are merely opinion, and which are not verifiable. I was unaware of issues with conflict of interest, of which I have none. Furthermore, my post which may be deemed as 'promotional' is a post regarding a British hip hop group which I manage, called 2U4U. All facts on the draft article awaiting review are verifiable and sourced. RobAt2U4U (talk) 11:32, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You failed to declare your conflict of interest as described at WP:COI. As such, I have blocked you indefinitely. You are free to declare it here and then request an unblock. Any admin is free to lift the block at that point, then either you or they can copy the declaration over to your user page. I want to be clear, this is an indefinite block but not an infinite block or a ban of any sort. I'm just making sure you properly declare your conflict of interest. --Yamla (talk) 12:43, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I hereby disclose my conflict of interest, namely that I am the manager of the British hip hop group 2U4U, for whom I currently have a draft article awaiting review at Draft:2U4U. I therefore request that the indefinite block is lifted, so that the conflict of interest declaration can be copied over to the user page/draft article pending review. RobAt2U4U (talk) 13:33, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do your disclosure in the format described at WP:COI. --Yamla (talk) 15:57, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I have once again lifted your block. You are free to remove your connected contributor declaration (and indeed, everything else) from this page, so long as it stays on your user page. Happy editing!
