Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Rutte857, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 02:37, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Arlington County, Virginia without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —C.Fred (talk) 02:37, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Arlington County, Virginia, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Please explain why you're deleting the material. Otherwise, without any explanation, we're left to assume the edits are disruptive.C.Fred (talk) 02:51, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Interstate Highway infoboxes

[edit]

Please don't append anything to the route number, as you did here. As you found out with CT, that broke the infobox's display of the marker graphic, but even where it doesn't break the graphics, it makes the extra text visible in the name. If we wanted the state-name shields to appear, we'd have coded them to appear without that extra text. Imzadi 1979  20:47, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Doing so at U.S. Route 66 and U.S. Route 66 in Oklahoma had the same result: using |route=66 (historic) might change the shield graphic called by the template, but the "(historic)" text was visible in the name, a result we do not want. Please don't do this again, ok? Imzadi 1979  17:03, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Denton County, Texas, you may be blocked from editing. Please explain why you removed the Communities section from the article. With no edit summary, there's no way to tell if it was a careless accident or intentional disruption.C.Fred (talk) 13:45, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Denton County, Texas. —C.Fred (talk) 14:17, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Interstate 476, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. We've asked you to stop this, and yet you continue. Failure to engage those of us communicating with you about will result in a loss of editing privileges. ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Rutte857. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
