Questions

[edit]

Hey, I have a couple questions for you and may ask more as we go along. You can respond to these questions by adding #: in

  1. How old are you? (It is not necessary to answer this if you don't wish)
    A=
  2. What is your time zone?
    A=
  3. Where are you interested in editing on Wikipedia?
    A=Cars, Weapons, computers, CCA administration
    Just to let you know, I don't actually have any experience with account creation. I have looked at it before, but never taken the time to look into it. I can research some, but I will be most helpful with other areas of Wikipedia. It may be useful to find another editor to explain the CCA process to you (and me) Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:56, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea! Ax10m77 (talk) 19:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  1. What do you believe are your best strengths (related to editing Wikipedia)?
    A=Understanding of programming, diehard dedication, good English language skills.
    Understanding of programming is very good. If you have any experience in creating java scripts you may be of more use to me than I am to you :) Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:56, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have basic Javascripting skill, but I truly hate it haha. Ax10m77 (talk) 19:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Do you have any general questions for me?
    A=No
  2. Do you understand how to use your watchlist? (many new editors don't realize they have a watchlist so I am just checking). Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:45, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    A= Yes

Hey, thanks a lot. I'm studying it right now. Do you have any other chat system other than IRC? I cannot get on at this time, but I will be on IRC in 5-7 hours. Thanks, Ax10m77 (talk) 18:41, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a MSN account that we can use to chat until I can use IRC later today? Also, how can I make a nicer signature? THX, Ax10m77 (talk) 19:25, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have an MSN account, you could attempt to chat in my google by sending me an email using the email this user feature. The exact process for creating a new signature is to click on My preferences then scroll down and type in your signature in the box. Click the button that says treat this as WikiMarkup. Make sure you check Wikipedia:Signatures to make sure your signature is acceptable. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:38, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just wait to get on IRC. THX, Ax1om77 (talk) 19:53, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

thanks! Ax1om77 21:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Goulds_Pumps did I edit correctly? THX,

You did great. Your edit summary usage was good. The message you left on the talk page may have been unnecessary, but it is never bad to leave one. Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:57, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Signature Tests

[edit]

We can use this to work on some signature tests. I have put a couple ideas below Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:38, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you like any of these? I can help you make more if you tell me what type of things you desire. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:38, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I like the blue boxed one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ax1om77 (talkcontribs) 19:53, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How could I use the blue sig? thx, Ax1om77 (talk) 19:55, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, I did steal that signature from User:Sandstein so your signature would look similar. He also adds <small></small> around the box for it to appear smaller. If you would like to use it add <span style="border:1px solid black;padding:1px;">[[User talk:Ax1om77|<font style="color:white;background:blue;font-family:sans-serif;">''' Ax1om77 '''</font>]]</span> to the signature box under preferences and make sure you check treat the above as wiki-markup. Ryan Vesey Review me! 20:05, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll sned him a thank you. THX, Ax1om77 (talk) 20:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you sent :) THX, Ax1om77 20:14, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is not necessary for you to change the color scheme, but I did notice that Sandstein stated that he would prefer if you did. Maybe a color reversal would work. Ax1om77 Basically any color scheme imaginable is available to you. Check out Web colors for a long list of available colors. Ryan Vesey Review me! 20:38, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give me the red and yellow scripting? THX, Ax1om77 20:48, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here you go <span style="border:1px solid black;padding:1px;">[[User talk:Ax1om77|<font style="color:red;background:yellow;font-family:sans-serif;">''' Ax1om77 '''</font>]]</span> Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:07, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Ax1om77 21:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review

[edit]

I thought I'd leave you a note about peer review. Peer review isn't about saying whether or not you support or oppose bringing the article to WP:FAC, it is for seeking an in depth review of problems found in an article. For an example of a good peer review see Wikipedia:Peer review/Bacon ice cream/archive1. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:06, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

makes sense, thanks. Ax1om77 22:22, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you make simple edits like the one you did to Lünen it is not necessary at all to use the talk page. Edits generally need to be discussed on the talk page only if they are controversial or if they have been reverted. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:29, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me with this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fruit_snack#Sources THX, Ax1om77 22:33, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

hey are you on right now? THX, Ax1om77 17:28, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just got on, I was out rockpicking. Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:28, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ready to help? THX, Ax1om77 21:41, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, what do you need assistance with? Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:48, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Articles Submitted for Review — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ax1om77 (talkcontribs) 21:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit confused, about what you are talking about. I don't see anything in your recent contributions. Could you provide me with a link? As a side note, are you ready for your first test? It has no time limit. Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:59, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am ready, and I can't find a link :O THX, Ax1om77 22:10, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I substituted over the test, perhaps you could try to explain more what you are talking about. Are you talking about articles for creation? Are you asking me about the peer review articles? I have those on my watchlist and haven't seen anything new. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:14, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The ones that you commented on are Wikipedia:Peer review/Lettuce/archive1 and Wikipedia:Peer review/Maya Angelou/archive2. I don't believe that you are ready to perform a peer review right now, so you should probably leave a message on the articles saying that you didn't initially understand the process and won't be performing a full review. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:17, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't let me edit, can you post it? THX, Ax1om77 03:05, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on IRC right now, care to hop on? Ryan Vesey Review me! 03:12, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox

[edit]

Hey, can you check my sandbox for the article I am drafting? And possibly lend me a hand? THX, Ax1om77 23:02, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
