File copyright problem with File:Polyhymnia - Jonathan Little.ogg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Polyhymnia - Jonathan Little.ogg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 13:09, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for this alert - Jonathan Little has given permission by email when he sent me the audio files but I obvioiusly need to get this in the required format and then amend file with a tag. May not be able to get on to this until 8th August but will do asap and when worked out what is needed. Similarly for Kyrie file. Rzanker (talk) 21:01, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Polyhymnia - Jonathan Little.ogg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Polyhymnia - Jonathan Little.ogg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 14:42, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
thanks again - my inexperience showing here, I have added the OTRS pending tag as Jonathan Little emailed permission letter to permissions-en etc on the 8th of August. Similarly added this pending tag to other files listed here and 2 new files uploaded today which were included in Little's email http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sacred_Prelude,_Op.1_-Jonathan_Little.ogg and http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Terpsichore,_Op._7-Jonathan_Little.ogg Rzanker (talk) 15:29, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Possible conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Rzanker. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Jonathan Little (composer), you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
Hello there - thank you for contacting me about this. I have tried to be careful in the creation of this article about Jonathan Little and subsequent editing to ensure there are verifiable external sources for statements but on a quick read of the pages you have directed me to realise that I should have made clear in my user page any connections to Jonathan Little through my past employment in an admin capacity (not marketing) at the University of Chichester Music Department (2 periods of employment, last terminated July 2013) and separately, in acting in the past as a proof reader for two of his publications cited in the article and now working on a database for a future book. It will take me a few days to make sure I am amending all my details to make all connections quite clear but I will certainly do this as I do not wish to breach any rules pertaining to Wiki editing and neutrality. Any queries anybody has, please do be in contact. (Rzanker (talk) 09:03, 27 August 2013 (UTC))
